Had the embarrassing realization that I forgot to post about this but, This was my Piece for the Gen Zine Submission, a huge reference to A Philosopher Giving a Lecture on the Orrery, an art history piece that always reminds me of Dr.Stone. Go check out everyone else’s work as well if you haven’t already!
Gachiakuta OC…. Been “studying” Kei Urana’s style lately,, and by that I mean I’ve been re-reading the manga, sending really long analyses over discord and drawing at the same time
Written for a Mini-Bang Event. I was the writer paired with @nari-kami for the prompt of rest and recovery / sick fic. Wrote a solid one-shot for their favorite pairing, Matsukaza/Ginro!

De-Petrification & Introduction: Early Autumn, Crater Lake, alone for two months before encountering Tsukasa and asked to join the EOM. Meets the KOS during the Winter of the Stone Wars Arc.
Character Intro: Formally an indebted retail worker, they now align themselves with Tsukasa's ideology, enjoying the freedom of a new world to recreate themselves as the Artist they've always desired to be, however Tsukasa's methods of control are casting fear and doubt into their mind.
Brief Backstory: Born to loving parents, went into the custody of his uncle young when they died tragically™. Grew up materialistically fulfilled, but lacked any sort of emotional connection from his uncle. The relationship went from distant to antagonist when his uncle denounced his passions and Takumi became an Emancipated Minor to pursue them. Originally hopeful, he lost that after receiving large amounts of Medical Debt due to severe jaw infection originally from an unchecked workplace injury. He leaves for Japan, and the years of exploitive and toxic workplaces, and general terribleness of customer service and poverty developed into a fundamental hatred of the world before and it's cycle of exploitation that crushed every dream Takumi once had and counted his life in terms of profit to extract.
Personality:Takumi enjoys being off putting, eccentric, and showing off obscure humanities knowledge—though he gets annoyed when his metaphors are misinterpreted or his quotes are misattributed. Takumi often gets incredibly absorbed into various art projects and will care little for things outside of his interest, including his well being. Underneath his more confident artistic persona, Takumi can be incredibly awkward when placed into serious negative situations, and prefers to go passive and retreat when faced with emotional danger. He holds a lot of hatred and bitterness not just for the World as it was Before, but underneath that, a lot of self loathing at himself for crumbling under it.
Ideology: Takumi rarely talks about this directly, only revealing aspects of his worldview to Tsukasa when in agreement with him. But perceptive characters could analyze his conversations.
What Takumi cares about is freedom— ability to pursue one's passion, the indescribable joy of being able to be oneself, and doesn't have much of a morality beyond that.
While Takumi is not cruel or sadistic, he lacks empathy in the traditional sense for a majority of the population, and he often views the world in terms of a hierarchy of power and relationships as transactional. He considers himself on the bottom of the ladder of power, inferior to many others, and is deeply paranoid and suspicious when interacting with people he considers above him— constantly believing that their every action must come with a price tag attached.
And Like Tsukasa, he believes in creating a new world without the exploitation of before. The systems which grinded his hope and future into dust and sold him false fantasies as the only means of dopamine in his life.
Winter Arc: As Ishigami Village rebuilds and repairs, sightings of a Yokai reveal a new mysterious player on the board, but it's unknown if they'll be friend or foe when the winter comes to an end.
This is a mini Arc meant to be inside of the Commutations Arc.
This is going to be the main arc of Takumi. It's a very EOM verses KOS Arc, in which Takumi's rose-colored glasses view of Tsukasa and the EOM is shattered when he realizes that Tsukasa is willing to turn his capability for violence towards him to threaten him into falling into line, which that irreversibly damages their relationship. And Takumi interacting with the KOS and Senku. Takumi originally has a very distorted image of Senku, which will change as they interact; the KOS challenging his worldview as he challenges theirs and lots of discussion about the interaction of the Sciences and humanities and the importance of Art.
Takumi & Tsukasa.
They meet first in the wilderness. Takumi was de-petrified naturally by himself. He has a generally terrible time in the wild, almost drowns but gets recused by Tsukasa. Takumi has a strong 'Love at first sight' moment, and completely ignores Tsukada being suspicious of him and his social ineptitude, and realizing that there is a society of people out there, asks to join, because Wilderness Survival is Hard™ and it's about to be Winter.
So Takumi joins the EOM.
This part of the relationship is mostly slow burn fluff. There is a moment where Takumi destroys a Statue, of a former boss who Sucked™ a whole lot, and is caught in the act by Tsukasa.
It's the moment in which, after they kruffle about for a moment over that statue, Takumi begins to explain his reasoning in defense, and he opens up ever so slightly about some of the exploitation he's gone through.
And it's over the shattered stone pieces that Tsukasa realizes there is someone who understands him, who sees the world in a way just like him. Someone who has developed a very similar kind of consuming hatred towards the people they are responsible for said exploitation.
The dialogue is something like this probably of
Tsukasa: "Let me be the one who commits the action, I will be the one who bears the weight of this guilt" Takumi: "The weight is what's reliving, it proves it happened—I don't,feel guilty for this… I'll do it again"
Afterwards, Tsukasa talks about Senku, and the whole "I murdered him for X reasons". Takumi has heard vaguely about Senku, but this is the moment Senku is actually talked about. Takumi develops a very distorted view of Senku- not because Tsukasa is intentionally deceiving him, but he's getting a view of Senku filtered through Tsukasa's worldview and fills in the gaps with his own perspective.
The Statue destroying moment is when Tsukasa develops his crush on Takumi, but it's not until a little bit later that Tsukasa fully realizes his feelings towards Takumi are not that of friendship, and are actually romantic. Look, Tsukasa both, 1. Hasn't experienced a lot of social relationships, and 2. Worked in a very masculine and televised industry with very narrow standards of acceptability, give him a moment.
Blah blah blah, more various shippy stuff in between my way too long explorations of food prep & storage and inner workings of the EOM. Takumi and Tsukasa getting to be regular teenagers doing childish fun stuff with each other because both of them had to grow up to quickly.
Something something, Takumi as the Metaphor for Tsukasa's New World—seeing him as the representation of everything he's trying to achieve, it's in the reflection and justification he sees in Takumi. Does Tsukasa know he's making this connection? Not on a conscious level, but he is definitely making it.
But as mentioned before, their relationship begins to strain, and that begins with the Argument™. Which is that Takumi decides to visit the village on a whim to see a post-petrification Society, and is completely blase when Tsukasa scolds him for it at first, barring him from going. It escalates into a full blown argument.
I love Tsukasa, but a lot of this argument is due to his issues, which is intentional. Tsukasa has difficulties getting along with others, and hasn't had friendships in the past. When he disagrees with someone, when there is conflict, he assumes that there must be victor and loser, and that this must be the end of the relationship. He doesn't negotiate or cooperate or compromise, and when he senses he is 'losing' he falls back into the familiar relationship dynamics he knows—settles for having control, because that is safer.
And when Tsukasa falls back into that pattern of reestablishing control through the method he knows best—intimidation and violence, Takumi realizes he's back in the cycle he was trying so hard to escape. Being at the mercy, being under the thumb of someone who limits him and his freedom because they have control over his necessities essentially.
And on the flip side, Takumi is meant to specifically highlight and exacerbate Tsukasa's social issues and the internal issues of the EOM.
There's an uncomfortable feeling in the air to their relationship now, a power dynamic not previous there, and neither of them can get rid of it; Their personalities and way of dealing with their problems fuel each other and never really improve the relationship. But they still hang around each other, Tsukasa still wants Takumi; The only other person who understood him, the only one he could be a teenager around, his metaphor and former friend. Takumi still likes Tsukasa, as a provider, as a protector, originally a friend, and he can't decide if the EOM or KOS is the better situation for him. he'll never bring up the issue, and is an expert at deflecting the conversation, but, well, perhaps? It's not all bad, he can stay. He feels like he's rotting from the inside out again but what else is he going to do?
And then Tsukasas is Frozen!
And I’ll leave it off there for now. That’s a lotta text. But yeah, these are my guys, I love them very much and I will yap about them endlessly if anyone sends me an ask about them
Dropping all of the art of Takumi I’ve got right here, I’ll make a proper introduction for him later; but for know that he is a weird and lowkey pretentious art kid traumatized by retail whom Tsukasa comes across and recruits. Is OC/Canon because it’s my life and I do what I want.
