idk if u still go fucking around on here or not but i just finished the improvidence series and omfg

it was so fucking good. im gonna be honest, i wasnt expecting the last part to be like that and it (definitely) didnt make me tear up a bit when i realised but yknow

it was amazing and hilarious and i just wanted to say that this was beautiful

HOO BOY I missed this one.

Seriously, comments like yours still mean a lot - I’m really glad people are still reading that series, considering how long ago I started/finished it. I’m excited to keep it going for just a little longer. I’m working primarily on my current story but I have a couple of plans for Improvidence cooking in the meantime. Thank you SO MUCH for reading!

And I’m writing Homestuck fanfiction again.

I came back to see just how much of a footprint my first series made in ficrecs awhile back and I didn’t even realize. That blew me the hell away and made me really happy, especially since I’m back on the bandwagon.

Twitter is my social media focal point lately, but I’d like to get back to using this for fandom stuff again.

As a reintroduction, I’m CJ and I write stuff! I’ve spattered myself around AO3 here and there, but here are my active works at the moment:

- Improvidence (reactivated!) - DaveKat - I finished this series, technically, in 2015 and now I’m just… falling back into it, oopsie-poopsie. I’ll be adding on a couple of one-shots that were requested kind of a long time ago. I just can’t break away from it, I guess.

- Trip Switch - DaveKat - My current, in-progress space-wartime-AU that takes on a slightly more serious tone, I think, than Improvidence did. I got the idea for it in my head during an 8 hour commute YEARS back and it’s been hanging out in my brain ever since. I feel like I didn’t hurt these twerps nearly enough in my first series so let’s make sure I do it right this time, hey?

More than anything, it’s just really, really cathartic to be writing seriously again. I’m glad to be back.

Never feel like shit over your cosplays looking like the inside of a butt in the very beginning. You can make some really cool stuff with the inside of a butt please don’t quote me on that.

People seem to be enjoying Papyrus sooo here, I'm making Sans, too. :) Process was very similar to Papyrus - I used the same helmet template from Evil Ted's shop but widened it before transferring to foam so it looked more round and squat. I exacto'd out a mapped section for the mouth and used the cut-out to design his teeth and glue them back into place. A LOT of dremeling took his eye sockets/eye bags and nose to where I wanted it. To chubby up his cheeks and get his "squashed 8" shape, I used model magic with several layers of white sandable hard gesso to smooth and seal everything down. His tiny brows are thin strips of moldable thermoplastic. After his surface was set, I did three passes along his teeth with a wood burner to get the dimension in there. The last picture is my wife wearing the skull - he's been painted and sealed, and now we just gotta paint in his tooth lines, install black mesh fabric for his eyes, give him pupils and he's done!

I know I'm barely on tumblr anymore but I've been super into Undertale lately and making a Papyrus for Wondercon! Skull is a helmet template that I purchased from Evil Ted Smith and modified into a skull and spent a million trillion years dremmeling and smoothing. Expressive details are being sculpted with Thermomorph moldable plastic. Still got a little ways to go. Plans are to have a moveable jaw so I can be a loudmouth with an actual mouth. 8)

Thank you so much for the Improvidence series by the way. It has become my 2nd most favorite fanfiction of all time. Thank you so, so much. You did a wonderful job, and if you /do/ end up doing a second davekat series, I'll be greatly looking forward to it. Keep up the good work. uvu <3

Thank you so much! That story really was fun to write and it challenged my writing abilities tremendously by keeping me going for a full year. Been a busy year. Just got back from PAX Prime, where I finally got to wear and showcase Krem! The first shot snagged from my friend Rob and the second is by ‘heykrashly’ on Twitter during our Wicked Grace photoshoot. Will hopefully have more pictures from the shoot to upload soon!
