Familia Famiglia Family

I’ve been thinking about those people a lot lately. The ones with whom I share blood and DNA and memories. I realize more now that I’m an adult, that I need to know their stories. I don’t want to wait until they’re gone and someone asks me what my favorite story ever told to me by my parents or grandparents is and I have to make one up.

I should know more about my grandmother. What I do know is her strength, her wisdom, her demeanor,her “southern charm and hospitality”, and her overall badassness. She is the only grandparent I have left and I can’t let these moments pass when I know eventually I won’t be able to bug her to tell me all about her life.

I just spent several hours per day with her over the last 4 days and she’s everything I expected, even cuter and tinier, and a lot less feeble one would consider an 85-year old.

I love that woman!
