Looking at all these pretty things, especially sparkles on a giant catfish, makes me think about, like, how temporary pretty is anyway. Isn’t it kind of inevitable that everything rots and withers away over time? Humans are all going to get old anyway, why was it ever a big deal that no one can be beautiful all the time

I’m not going to pretend I’m deep or super enlightened, I just think the more time I spend around dead people, the more I vibe with the wrinkles under the eyeshadow.

I didn’t know they were a demon! I just woke up from having some weird dreams and felt like starting a conversation with people! I’m not used to tweeting - sorry, tumblring - about something and having DEMONS pay attention!!!

Hm. Alright I understand, it is not an issue. But for the future, hm? Please. Are you sure you want to go to that coronation? 

Yes, yes, you’re right... I will be extra careful talking to them going forward, if we talk again at all.

I think so? Like, I really don’t want to die and it’s scary as hell, but think about how amazing it could be to see this happen. And you only live once twice, technically, so I keep asking if I really want to miss out on opportunities out of fear.

Strengths

Positivity - If you ever need a pick-me-up, a wingwoman, or just somebody to put a beer in your hand and tell you you'll pull through, Star is your girl. 

Loyalty - In the same vein of being an excellent wingwoman, once Star has decided you're her kind of person, it takes a lot to sway her from that.

Resilience - Although she's definitely not immune to depression or feeling discouraged, Star inevitably bounces back. She's been through some pretty intense situations and come through more-or-less intact; that confidence in her ability to weather bad situations enables her to endure what might drag other people down.

Weaknesses

Laziness - Why work hard? For someone else to get rich or powerful? To build something she doesn't care about? To accomplish something she didn't set out to do? Mehhhhhhh. It makes far more sense to Star to focus on the things she feels like doing. Sometimes that's something productive! But... often it isn't.

Short-Term Thinking - Hard to think about the long term impacts when you don't have many long term goals! As far as she's concerned, she's (almost) always gotten by just fine (with a few notably terrible exceptions) - why shouldn't that luck continue?

Self-centered - Look, it's not that Star doesn't care about other people. She does! And she was getting better about this before she died, but the flaw remains. In 99% of situations, she's usually going to be thinking about how she feels, what she wants, and how things will impact her. After that initial reaction, she'll probably consider other involved parties - most of the time.

1. What’s their full name, how’s it pronounced, and what does it mean?

Diana Gustavsson aka "Star" - Diana has roots in mythology & ties to divinity, most notably as the Roman goddess of the moon, the hunt, forests, and childbirth. The Swedish pronunciation (I THINK, please forgive me if I'm wrong, I did try to look it up!) is Dee-on-na. I'm a big fan of her choosing the pseudonym Star, since it's in keeping with the low-key celestial theme.

5. What’s their favourite food?

-cue Powerwolf's 'All We Need Is Blood'-

Ahaha, but more seriously: when she was alive, I think Star favoured pastries. Given the opportunity, she'd reach for a Vanilla Heart (Vaniljhjärta) which is like a shortbread heart filled with vanilla custard and dusted with icing sugar :>

9. What’s their biggest fear?

Oooh, tough one. The Final Death is a big one, but more than that I think she's afraid of becoming some joyless, rigid, politicking corpse. She's met plenty of Kindred she likes, but even more Kindred who are every inch the predator they are purported to be. On a long enough timeline, many vampires lose their connection to humanity - and by extension, their human emotions. A joyless existence is close to being the worst fate she can imagine, topped only by something as scary as eternal torment, which... yikes, if hell is real? She *definitely* never wants to die.

15. What are their pet peeves?

Star h a t e s elitism & holier-than-thou perspectives. Having seen the worst of humanity and some pretty awful supernatural beings, she's of the opinion that no one is really better than anyone else, deep down. Some people are just better at climbing up ladders of power than others. In most situations, she's an easy-come, easy-go sort of person, but she'll bust out the snark for people on high horses.

And if the situation REALLY calls for it, she's perfectly happy to drag someone into the mud and roll around in it for a while with them, just for the sake of getting some dirt on their pristine posturing. She's a rotting corpse, after all, what's she got to lose?
