I wanna make a LoZ AU where it's just improving on the concept of the Triforce Heroes Games. Not story wise or anything but the concept of a three-player game where you each play a hero that carries one third of the Triforce. The Triforce is just part of your skillset throughout the game, influencing every item you use.

I don't think it makes sense for Ganon to be a protagonist but I know Nintendo is okay with random characters just becoming the wielders of power. So what if Ganon just isn't part of this story? We could even keep Lady Maud and change her motivation from being jealous of Styla's looks to being jealous of the power the royal family holds over the land.

Instead of outfits we have items that have different effects based on which Triforce is being used alongside it. Like, power bracelets only enhance strength for Courage, lets you levitate objects for Wisdom, and allows you to break any obstacle for Power. What about magic rods? Would they correspond with the powers of the dragons or would they correspond with the environmental effects of the Eldin, Faron, and Lanayru locations?

And how would the heroes even meet? Do I keep the three heroes prophecy aspect? Do I make each character a different character? If I made it Zelda and Link instead of just Link than who's their third? A random OC? Their mutual friend? Do I make them all siblings? I like the sibling idea but would I base them off of Link's sister, Aryll, or do I base them on AoL's prince, who is the only real reference to Zelda having a sibling in canon? Do I make it Linkle? Cadance? Someone completely new? A mix of all of that?

I don't know if I'd make this story a fic or a comic, if I commit to it at all. All of my stories would have to be put on the sideline for it but I'm kinda okay with that. I mean I've completely forgotten to keep up with my Crime Fam story and the Genshin crossover is kinda stuck because I've written myself into a corner AGAIN. I still plan to finish the last part of the Genshin AU, and I almost am, but it definitely makes sense to take a break from that story, at least for a while.

But what would I even call this story? Triforce Heroes? That's boring. Three Powers? Don't hate it but feels a little on the nose. Royal ties? Doesn't feel on brand for nintendo... I'll stick with Three Powers for now.

I've actually made progress on my current story draft, go me! I've gotten past the part actually giving me trouble, so I'm gonna celebrate with another bit of lore from my LUxATLA AU.

Wind! Baby boy! Tied with Four as my favorite of the heroes! This boy most definitely started as a water bender before discovering he was the Avatar at the ripe old age of twelve.

Now, honestly, i don't think Wind's first story would change all that much. The Helmaroc King is most definitely just a "noraml bird" in this version of events, and the King of Red Lions wouldn't be able to just be the boat, but... very little else would actually need to change all that much.

No, I think the real changes would have to come in the form of Phantom Hourglass. First of all, Wind's adventure can't happen in a dream world, and it doesn't make that much sense for the entire adventure to take place in the Spirit World. So here's the pitch:

Instead of Wind and Tetra getting stolen away to a new world, Wind and Tetra get separated from not only their crew but each other during a great storm that had been kicked up during the fight between the Ocean King and Bellum. Wind gets found by Ciela, one of the ancient shard fragments of Farore.

Wind still meets Oshus, who is not the Ocean King but is instead a guru that knows far too much about what is happening between the Ocean King and Bellum. Linebeck is still a non-bending treasure hunter, Tetra is still trapped by Bellum's power, and the rest of the NPC's in game would be practically unchanged.

Leaf and Neri are fragments of Din and Nayru respectively, just like Ciela with Farore. This has nothing to do with Bellum or the Ocean King. This is due to what happened before the avatar cycle even existed; Hylia would have had the same thing happen to her if she had not irreparably damaged herself the way she did.

Another change is that the Sand of Hours does not control the flow of time like it does in game. That power does not exist outside of the spirit world in this story. Instead I'm going to say it's a lot like kinetic sand mixed with magnetite. This makes it a lot harder to control than normal sand but also keeps it's shape better than normal sand can. This allows Wind to effectively stop enemies in their tracks without risk of his foes being able to easily bend their way out, depending on how much he has at any given time. This also means he can add the sand to whatever weapon he wields to add to it's shape/weight.

Phantom Hourglass would also be when Wind is able to control the avatar state instead of continuing to accidentally trigger it. This is saved for the final battle against puppet!Linebeck but it happens!

TLDR; Wind invents a more advanced form of sand bending before he even masters the avatar state.

Welcome to the LU Apartment Buddies AU, a modern fantasy AU where every adventure happened basically at the same time and the Chain all moved to the same apartment building. This AU includes:

Malon owning Lon Lon Apartments after Talon retired.

Time always wanting to go camping but never having time (ha).

Twilight, Wild, and Flora being college roommates that "rescued a dog".

Wind fulfilling his grandma's wish of being the nosiest neighbor possible.

Four having "mysterious roommates" that no one ever sees but always hear.

Sky and his girlfriend just moving in from "out of town" and having no clue about anything.

Legend and Warriors stealing stuff from each other's apartments and getting mad at each other about it.

Hyrule never being at his own home, even when he's supposedly "at home".

The building being known for it's "rodent problem" even though no one's actually seen any physical evidence of rodents being present.

There is horse parking but no one knows where the horses came from or where they go to.

No one asking follow up questions when strange things happen or mysterious visitors appear at odd hours.

And "family dinners" once a week that just consist of the Link's meeting up in Time's apartment to eat and tell stories whenever one of them needs a break.

This is a stupid idea with no real plot but I think that's what I like most about this au. There's no expectation for where to take it so it could literally go anywhere. Maybe I'll write some short drabbles for this au or something. Who knows.

LU x Pokemon Teams Pt. 2

Legend

His pokemon are based on the places he's traveled to and the people he's met... not necessarily in adherence to each other.

Infernape - Beau: Based on Hytopia, this pokemon would not be Legend's starter in general but something to tie him to the prophecy of the three heroes.

Gastrodon - Inky: Based on Lorule, I chose it because of how much contrast it has to the rest of Legend's team without feeling out of place.

Lopunny - Pearl: Based on Legend's Hyrule, this was likely Legend's starter that he caught out of necessity instead of getting a traditional starter like most other children.

Togekiss - Liberty: Not a Wingull but I thought it fit better than any other Sinnoh Pokemon for Koholint/Marin. He probably caught it after the events of LA to remember his adventure.

Froslass - Queenie: Based on Labrynna, Legend probably found her in the past with Ralph, who has a Glalie.

Roserade - Summer: Based on Holodrum, I like to imagine it somehow changes with the seasons like Sawsbuck does.

Hyrule

Based on his spells and enemies.

Swampert - Life: Based entirely on the Zola/Zora, probably not his starter.

Gallade - Beam: Based on his sword, I figure Gallade was his actual starter because the old man that gave it to him thought Hyrule needed a Raltz more than he did.

Breloom - Jump: Based entirely on the Jump spell and how many forests you travel through in Zelda 2.

Manetric - Thunder: Based entirely on the Thunder Spell and we thank him for it.

Camerupt - Fire: Based on Death Mountain because Hyrule definitely would have picked something up from the hotter areas.

Dusknoir - Spell: Based on all of the ghostly monsters that Hyrule encounters.

Warriors

Based on characters and what I think would fit in a militaristic setting.

Intellion - Marks: Based on spies and snipers, I figure Impa gifted it to Warriors the same time she gave him her trust and faith.

Corviknight - Knight: Based on knights, it was probably gifted to Warriors when he joined the military.

Boltund - Scout: Honestly, this choice is more based on Warriors as a character rather than his military background, though it an also work as a reference to police dogs. This is who Warriors calls his starter.

Coalossol - Tank: Based entirely on how Warriors learned he was the legendary hero, it was probably rescued from Volga as a Rolycoly.

Hatterene - Medic: This was most definitely just a gift from either Artemis or Lana at some point, it just fits too well.

Falinks - Century: I think this one needs no explanation because it's perfect but I also think he didn't get it until near the end of his adventure, when he finally grew into his own.

Wild

Based on his friends and abilities.

Meowscarada - Seed: Based on not only Greater Hyrule but also a reference to the Sheikah.

Garganacl - Salt: Based on the Goron's in general but also based on where the Rito call home.

Armarouge - Ruby: Based on the strength of the Gerudo but also a reference to launching Yunobo out of canons.

Kilowattrel - Shock: Based on the Rito in general but also the events in Zora's Domain.

Houndstone - Friend: Either the only pokemon from Wild's original team or a pokemon he caught after the equivalent of what happened on the Great Plateau.

Tinkaton - Tonic: Based on Purah and Robbie but also a great reference to the Gerudo, I think.

Okay, I think I'm finally satisfied enough with these teams to post them. The only one I'm not completely happy with is Wild but that's because I couldn't fit in a good Zora reference that would be anything but food related (Tatsugiri). Besides that, I think I did a pretty good job with making fun teams that not only fit the characters but could actually be played. If you decide to play these teams, let me know how it goes. I'm still working on playing as Sky and Four right now myself.

LU x Pokemon Teams Pt. 1

Sky

Sky's pokemon are based on in-game creatures/races, unlike basically every other hero.

Charizard - Crimson: Based on his Loftwing in game, Sky definitely is famous for having called him as his starter instead of the standard Pidgey or Spearow.

Pikachu - Remlit: Sky does not have a Remlit himself in game but they're very memorable.

Dugtrio - Mitts: I could not choose just one Mogma but Dugtrio also works as a substitute for Sky's Digging Mitts.

Dragonite - Ballade: I couldn't ignore how perfect Dragonite was for Sky because of the dragons and their role in the story.

Scyther - Fi: Generally based on the sword spirits of the game; Sky needs to have his Fi equivalent.

Snorlax - Slumber: Mostly based on Sky's tendency to sleep but also off of the dreams at the beginning of the game.

Four

Four's pokemon are mostly based on vibes with vague, handwavy connections.

Delphox - Forge: I think it'd be very helpful in the forge and also work as a gift from Dot/her father.

Aegislash - Sword: Definitely the equivalent to the Four Sword, I figure this is probably what happened to the spirit of King Gustaf.

Sylveon - Light: Four is always associated with Eevee, so I decided to give Four the evolution that's most effective against Umbreon.

Aurorus - Royal: I have no memory as to why I gave him Aurorus but it's probably something to do with Kinstones.

Hawlucha - Hero: I'm sorry, this one just fits! It's basically Four if Four was a wrestler!

Goodra - Mini: The animation of the Chuchu boss in Minish Cap altered my brain chemistry when I first saw it and I've decided to memorialize that fact by naming Goodra the big version of all of the early Minish Cap bosses.

Time

Time's pokemon are based mostly on locations and what pokemon I think he'd feel most connected to.

Meganium - Flower: If he can't keep Navi than he can keep the pokemon that matches both his upbringing and his Deku Mask.

Gengar - Healer: Based on both the Song of Healing and the fact Time can drink poes from a glass bottle.

Gyarados - Babs: Completely based on everything Zora related, no need to think too hard.

Ninetales - Night: Mostly just the Keaton Mask but I think it fits his subtle trickster vibes.

Xatu - Day: I figure Time would find comfort in a pokemon that can see both the past and the future.

Mamoswine - Peace: Entirely based on Snowhead but could also double as the equivalent to the Biggoron Sword.

Twilight

Twilight's pokemon are mostly based on the different animals and items in his game.

Samurott - Spring: The only one not based on an animal or item, I figure Rusl gave Spring to Twilight in early childhood.

Zebstrika - Epona: Not his starter but definitely the pokemon he's closest to.

Zoroark - Wolfie: It's basically Twilight and Midna fused into a pokemon, it's the entire reason Twilight is based in Unova at all.

Galvantula - Princess: Basically the only bug type he was able to keep away from Agitha.

Ferrothorn - Spike: Based on the spinner, as well as the ball and chain.

Chandelure - Ghost: Based on all of the ghostly encounters in the game, as well as the Ghost Lantern.

Wind

His pokemon are mostly based on in-game locations and his game's themes of learning/moving on from the past.

Primarina - Aria: Definitely could have been found on Outset and is probably the reason Wind is so good at using the Wind Waker. This also ties him to Legend.

Vikavolt - Beatle: He thought he was funny when he found it in Forest Haven until Beedle learned of little Beat's existence.

Midday/Dusk!Lycanroc - Sonny: Mostly a connection to Twilight but I also think it works well as a pokemon that originally belonged to Linebeck before attaching itself to Wind.

Turtonator - Canon: Definitely found on the way to save Valoo.

Alolan!Ninetales - Requiem: Mostly based on the whole "Hero of Time's successor" deal.

Dhelmise - Clef: Either found when trying to pull the Triforce pieces out of the ocean or when boarding the ghostship.

I think I made some pretty good teams. I wasn't really thinking about viability so I'd be curious if they all could feasible beat their regions with just these pokemon. I've already started personal challenges with Sky and Four's teams but we'll see how far I get with this experiment.

(Note: I realized too late that I've been putting "championship" instead of "tournament" like in the games. The Chain is supposed to be competing in the Pokemon World Tournament. Let's just say we're going by anime rules because I'm not going back to change this.)

Another LU AU to get out of my system, I'm just gonna rip the band aid off.

MLP AU

Yep, you heard that right. No, I do not have an actual story to go with it. No, I am not taking after any specific gen besides gen 4's art style for my sanity's sake.

Ponies:

Time - Earth Pony: I thought it made the most sense not only for balancing reasons but also because I feel as if most of the magic items he uses are invasive rather than helpful, especially in MM.

Warriors - Pegasus: The two things I remember from his game are the big, flashy attacks and all of the running, so I figured being able to fly would just be easier.

Twilight - Earth Pony: I not only wanted him to match with Time but I also thought it just made the most sense because of how he reacts when presented with magic stuff.

Sky - Pegasus: Obviously.

Legend - Unicorn: The first item he canonically gets is a lantern that feeds off of his magic meter; he's a unicorn.

Hyrule - Unicorn: Obviously.

Wild - Pegasus: Paraglider.

Four - Earth Pony: Could have made him a unicorn but I think he would have been able to keep Dot from being turned to stone if he was.

Wind - Unicorn: He could have been a pegasus but I thought it made more sense for him to have magic instead of him just refusing to fly after the Helmeroc King.

Okay, back on the writer's block train, so another LU AU I must present. Bare with me.

Pokemon World Championship AU! I do not have concrete teams for the heroes yet but I will give details about the story idea I have.

Concept: The Pokemon World Championships have arrived in Johto! Time, the long reigning champion of the region (ignore that Johto and Kanto share a champion), is up to his armpits in festival planning, along with the rest of his league and his sister, Prof. Saria Tree. However, Time's attention is forced elsewhere when he's sent an emergency alert; Hoopa has been captured by an unknown figure traveling by wormhole.

Time, not wanting to cause a mass panic, decides to keep this issue as tight-lipped as humanly possible. This leads him to reaching out to the other champions participating in the championships to help him with this investigation during the festivities. All of the champions agree to both help and to keep it a secret.

Now the race is on for the heroes to not only find Hoopa but the identity of the mysterious figure before disaster strikes. Will they be able to stop the figure from abusing Hoopa's power for their own selfish goals or will the mysterious figure take the heroes out one by one? Tune in next time to the Pokemon World Championships!

Ideas:

This is a story where LoZ plots happened in the Pokemon world, not Pokemon existing in Hyrule.

Warriors is the one that alerted Time to the Hoopa issue. Being the current champion of Galar, he thought it a little more than odd that Hoopa or a wormhole would show up in a place neither had ever been seen in.

Wind was the other champion contacted by Warriors personally, seeing as Wind was the first champion of Alola. Warriors had expected Wind to pass the alert onto Alola's professors, not come forward with his own experience inside of wormholes, including extensive explanations on how they worked.

Four was the first champion to show up in Johto because of his own experience with Hoopa. Time had not known Hoopa called Kalos home before Four showed up and demanded to stay until Hoopa was saved.

Twilight is Time's cousin, being Mido's son that was adopted by a nice, Unovan couple. Twilight was the first champion that Time had invited to the championship and also the first champion he asked to be part of the investigation.

Time has been the Johto champion since he was nine. He has not had the responsibilities of champion for nearly as long but he has been undefeated for over two decades.

Legend and Four have been rivals since their early years as champions, having risen to the position around the same time. It's a shame that Sinnoh isn't closer to Kalos because they'd take the time to have weekly fights if they could.

Wild was not supposed to be the champion that showed up to the World Championships, leaving him to play catchup while Flora is one of the few non-champions that knows about the mystery plot. Luckily, they know something about portals and alternate worlds due to Area Zero basically becoming their new favorite place to explore.

Sky is Time's newest rival, having become the champion of Kanto only a few years ago. Despite their clashing views they respect each other greatly and have each other's back when it counts.

Hyrule was still debating on whether he should not go to the World Championships when Time sent the emergency alert. Hyrule doesn't really think he's qualified but his experience with the Weather Trio might be helpful so he decides to keep his place in the fights.

Other Link's and Zelda's show up as other competitors during the bracket fights as exceptionally talented trainers. They're not really relevant to the story but they are there.

Hopefully I'll have teams and sketches next time I pick this AU up but until then, this is everything you need to know!

Okay, I'm almost done with the next part of my LUxGenshin AU, I just have to rewrite Fischl's dialogue so she actually talks like herself. In the meantime, I continue my endeavors of thinking up and refining other AU's I've had/will have for LU. So that brings me to one conclusion: I want to rework the story of "The Gift Of Family".

For those not in the know, this is a long abandoned story of mine. I quit the story because I didn't know how to approach Sky's introduction into the family and got too married to one idea. Still, I loved the way writing that story made me feel for the short amount of time I did. So let me tell you how I'd rewrite it if I had the patience to write an over 100 chapter fic.

Premise: Time and Malon adopt the Chain.

That's it. That was the whole premise. I want to see what happens when the Heroes of Courage got to grow up together instead of having their separate lives and adventures. I'd want it to be a modern, urban-fantasy story where the boys all get adopted, one by one, into the Lon-Link Family so they can all support each other as they learn to live with their trauma.

So here's the rewrite rundown- 1: Time and Malon have Twilight at too young after Time has finally escaped his criminal life. 2: Twilight finds runaway Warriors hiding in the barn and forces his family to nurse the poor kid back to health. 3: Sky gets an emergency foster with the Lon-Link's because his parents abandoned him. 4: Legend gets put as the Lon-Link's first flight risk after the AU's equivalent of his first game. 5: Time and Malon are asked to just straight up adopt Hyrule because he was raised by wolves but saved a rich girl and needs to be protected/watched. 6: Wild is handed off to the Lon-Link Family as war rages on in the background, despite no one having genuinely agreed to this. 7: Malon is asked to take in her late cousin's kid, Four, when Grandpa Smith is deathly ill. 8: Wind and Aryll's grandma is getting too weak to care for them on her own and only the Lon-Link Family is willing to take both of them in.

Of course, this is all oversimplified for the sake of the pitch but that's because this story would be way too ambitious. I would want to include not only the adventures of these heroes weaving around each other while adoption stuff is still going on, but also addressing their trauma's and how the family as a whole deals with said trauma while also dealing with their own. It's A Lot. Especially because I wanted to make each of their origins as different as possible while still making the logical conclusion of their story be at Lon-Lon Ranch. So, I made a list of issues that each hero would deal with, based off my headcanon for how they all became orphans.

~The Issues~ Time: Was raised to be a criminal for the forces of good but fought tooth and nail to stop being that and instead live his own life. Malon: Had a pretty normal life but teen pregnancy is very stressful, as is being the co-owner of her family ranch at the same time. Twilight: Technically has no big issues until his late teens but does kinda take the brunt of the trauma bombs his siblings throw at him. Warriors: Ran away after being heavily abused in different ways by both of his parents. Sky: Was abandoned after his parents decided they couldn't keep up with the heavy bills that came with Sky's medical condition. Legend: Didn't know his parents but his uncle did die in front of him, leading him to be framed for murder and kidnapping on the same night, only to later be dropped at horrible foster home after horrible foster home. Hyrule: Raised by wolves near a major campsite, only for him to abandon his wolf family in order to save a girl from being murdered in the woods. Wild: Raised to be a heartless weapon by the combined efforts of Rhoam and his parents, alongside his sister, but was randomly put with the Lon-Link family when the war happened. Four: Has been protecting his best friend from dangerous bullies for years but made the mistake of trying to get one of these dangerous bullies (Shadow) to change his ways, leading into Grandpa Smith getting hospitalized and Four knows the old man isn't going to make it. Wind: Has been helping his grandma raise Aryll for years after his parents died at war and has already delt with not only his sister but also his best friend getting taken right before his eyes. Aryll: Got kidnapped and put in a cage, alongside other girls, before getting rescued and being treated like glass from then on by everyone in her life but especially Wind.

There's already a lot more to this AU but I'll leave that for another post. I'm just gonna get as many AUs out of my system as I can before expanding on any of them... probably. We'll see where the creative flow leads.

So, while I'm struggling to finish the next part of my LUxGenshin AU I've been thinking of other AUs I could make. I don't plan on actually writing them but I do draw a lot and have been wanting to post some of my art here. One of these AUs I've been drawing is an ATLA AU. Not "what if Linked Universe but Avatar" but "what if Zelda was always in the Avatar world". So, as context, here's the main idea I've been running with so far.

-The Beginning- Long ago there were four spirits of the elements. Farore, spirit of the earth, Din, spirit of fire, Nayru, spirit of water, and Hylia, spirit of air. Together with the help of the Lion Turtles, they blessed humanity with the ability to bend their elements. However, one day, the spirits of order and chaos found their way into the mortal realm the elemental spirits held dear. The Fierce Deity, the embodiment of order and light, was stuck in constant battle with the Demon King, the embodiment of chaos and darkness; neither yielding yet neither gaining ground against the other.

As the Fierce Deity and the Demon King fought, the world began to crack and life as we knew it was threatened. Hylia, along with her sister spirits, decided to side with the Fierce Deity to protect this new world, using the First Avatar as a vessel to do so. The Demon King, infuriated by this, decided to combine forces with an evil spirit named Ghirahim. But, as every legend will tell you, the light was too much for the darkness to handle and the Demon King was imprisoned for 10,000 years.

Hylia knew the Demon King wouldn't stay sealed forever. So she devised a plan with the First Avatar, Link. In 10,000 years, Link would be reborn as the human vessel for the Fierce Deity. Before that, Hylia would begin the slow process of perfectly separating her element from her spirit, as did her sister spirits; gifting the powers of the four elements to the Fierce Deity. Yet Hylia, having been the first to perform this act, was too weak to maintain her spiritual form after thousands of years of labor and planning. So, yet another plan was made. Hylia would be reborn alongside the Fierce Deity so they may fight against the Demon King together while Farore, Din, and Nayru kept watch over the Demon King's seal.

End of world building backstory!

After that I assume the stories of the games kinda go as they always do, just in a new setting with new rules. I.E. Time and Sky wouldn't be able to change the past and future but I assume they would be able to time travel through the spirit world by literally walking from one year to another. This is probably how the events of LU began in this AU. I also assume there are a lot more Avatars than the canon roster of Link's, including a fair bit of Linkle's, but that's not really relevant to LU so won't really come up all that much.

Anyways, let's see how long this AU holds my attention. I just finished my first draft of designs and am currently working on refining (completely overhauling) for the second draft.

Also, before you ask, yes I've seen the Avatar AUs by both @lemonheadart and @facial-hair-fanatic-artdump. I adore both of them to death and I've even been a fan of facial's Avatar AU for years. However, if you've read my fics, you know I like to riff on the ideas of others. And yes, I do always ask permission when my ideas get too close to the ideas of others. However, from what I can tell, the only real thing I have in common with either of these AUs are both from lemonheadart. Those two ideas so far are 1: every Link is the Avatar, and 2: Time was probably raised in the Foggy Swamp; both of which I had not seen until I'd already begun plotting out this au.

Those similarities are enough to make me hesitate to post this au but I can't hold myself back from sharing what I enjoy just because it resembles someone else's work. That would be stupid and is the exact opposite to how creative spaces work. So, instead, I would like to throw this idea out to the world to get myself to actually share my ideas outside of fics that take me forever to write but also to allow anyone to voice their thoughts on how they think the stories of each Link would change just because their title shifted from "Hero" to "Avatar".
