ยซ I always wonder if endos actually have done any kind of research on complex dissossiative disorders other than you have alters in them because they always have those damn "build an alter" and "headmate pack" things... do you know how headmates form? They form either from long periods of heavy stress or trauma, PERIOD, FULL STOP, NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS...
and you especially cannot decide your headmates identity, unless its some kind of programming, like what our gatekeeper does to get fragments and shards to behave in the benefit of the system instead of developing to become what she calls "cannon fodder" A.K.A useless traumaholders waiting around in the dormancy dungeons to be used as trauma sponges instead of alters that "have actual functions".
Second point: i dont think that endos understand what kind of terrible headaches splitting causes. Most of them are just trying to feel special, so i get it. Its not like "owwiee heheh my head hurts XD" , its periods of long, exhausting headache and dissociation. I havent experienced this first hand, but our host has and by being around them a lot, i feel exactly what he feels when splitting. Its hell. You're losing yourself for days, even weeks until it finally stops and then you can rest.
What about the alter that split? Not like you'll discover it in months, BAH! CDDs are a trauma based disorder and supposed to be really covert, especially to the host. You dont just get your favourite character introject wrapped in a tiny little gift box with a tiny cute ribbon, kid. Log off and pick up a hobby instead of setting our community back right to the 1600s where we would have been considered possessed. ยป
