It’s a rhetorical statement – he knows that (if he were still alive, there’s no doubt that Tatsumi would be as well), and yet he still can’t help but feel bitter denial seep into his brain. However, none of that is properly presented onto his visage. Rather, Natsuno simple gazes on, before humming under his breath.
“ I guess that undead don’t die that easily then. “
“I’ll admit... we werewolves seem to be more resilient than I thought.”
In truth, he had not expected to survive. The moment the bomb was lighted, he knew that both of them had accepted death (hadn’t they both, since a long time ago?). And yet, here they are, scatheless and spared from it once again. Should he be glad? Upset? All he knows is that their business was not finished. Tatsumi observes—and the being before him provokes no less malice than he always has.
