This is so epic and ingenious! A DIY version of the illusionary wall from the movie Labyrinth by Jen and John at Epbot. Serious commitment and fan action – not to mention planning and building skills. Kudos!
I'm only here to steal the babe... nothing else
If there is interest, I could possibly make more of these for sale. 🤷

I got the wonderful opportunity to see Labyrinth on the big screen last week (thank you Fathom Events) and I think this time around really helped me nail down one of the things that makes this movie so special to me: the ending message.
A story with a somewhat childish sixteen-year-old girl who immerses herself in magic and fantasy worlds who goes through a journey and a transformation and comes out the other side more mature could very easily have ended with the message of "Now that the adventure in the fantasy world is over, our heroine has grown and matured enough to leave magic and fantasy behind and become an Adult."
But Labyrinth doesn't do that.
Labyrinth says: "You might grow up a little. You might put away your costumes and your music box and your crown. You might give your teddy bear to your little brother. But that doesn't mean you have to leave it all behind. Every so often in your life, for no reason at all, you might need a little magic back in your life. And your friends in the fantasy world will always be there for you."
"Should you need them."
This was such a fun journey! The hardest part was making the "butt cape". I used photos from lovely people who shared their images from the Labyrinth exhibit. But a huge thanks to @pants-magic-pants for their diagrams! They were such a huge help! I could not find anyone else who described the making of in such detail for this coat. Though I am not going to film accurate for I don't like the hot glue look nor the glitter glue.
I am currently still adding some vintage silver metal sequins for more sparkle. As well as sewing down any sequins and beads that have come lose. I keep losing 1 or 2 whenever I pick up the coat.
My himbo orange cat Frumpkin, did not help as per usual. I did try padstitching for the first time! The lapels do stay curled at the right spot but cause of all the layers I don't think it sits quite right overall.
More photos will be shared but here is a sneak of the bedazzled back.
I feel like Stede Bonnet from Our Flag Means Death wearing this coat.
Jareth pumping himself up for the theater by taking selfies further and further away from the mirror..... as you do
Through dangers untold, and hardships unnumbered... I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City... To take back the child you have stolen. For my will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom is as great. You have no power over me!
