I’ve only seen one fanart dealing with this idea, but imagine an AU where Papy and Sans are the ones who fell into the void instead of Gaster... everyone except him forgot about them and he tries everything to save them. Oof I made myself sad just thinking about that...

had a fic idea once that I'm never gonna write abt postpaci undertale and like things on the surface are fine? great even? everyone is happy and things are going well and it's a beautiful summer...

and it's been a beautiful summer for a long, long time, hasn't it? and mettatons next big tour is always a month away, and frisk is still ten and a half, and almost unnoticeably except to those who have experience w weird time shit nothing is quite... changing. it's a new day every day, but the fundamentals never move. nothing progresses. time isn't stopped, or even looped, it's just... meaningless.

to make a long and vaguely defined story short, they find gaster to try and get answers (and it's weirdly easy, the fun coming much more readily to hand). and he hesitates, and explains that he has theories about what would happen to a timeline cut off from its 'heart', its motive force, while keeping all its history intact...

and eventually he admits that what happens is a slow slide away from meaning and a coherent sense of time, as everything slows to one infinite perfect moment without meaning or movement or change. and he suspects that the reason he was so easy to reach is because everyone was halfway towards him already, half out of time and space, half gone.

anyways this fic (and this post I guess) was a long callout against myself for copying my true pacifist save and putting it in a random folder in my documents, far away from the game files, so I could run text corruptors on undertale without feeling bad,
