Time for more "weekly" propaganda. Please, using an ask or by replying to or reblogging the correct post, send in propaganda for tracks you like! Especially tracks you think are not so popular: people need to know what's good about your favourites, or they won't vote for them!
Each propaganda request will be focussed on a different album, although you can submit propaganda for any track in the Official Discography at any time, whether or not I've made a post for it yet.
Alternia was the first Homestuck solo album, comprised of only songs composed by Toby Fox, many of which were made as the characters they pertain to were being revealed.
It's full of initial themes from the 12 trolls (or some of them, at least), and forms the basis for many key leitmotifs that represent them later into the discography, and the comic.
Crustacean, The Lemonsnout Turnabout, psych0ruins, Walls Covered In Blood, dESPERADO ROCKET CHAIRS,, Virgin Orb, The La2t Frontiier, and Spider's Claw form the basis for Karkat, Terezi, Aradia, Nepeta, Tavros, Kanaya, Sollux, and Vriska's musical representation within Homestuck. mIrAcLeS, Staring, and Keepers are also here, I guess, but Gamzee, Equius, and Eridan and Feferi don't really receive many references back to them in the discography. There's also Theme, which re-occurs in Toby's follow-up album, Alterniabound, in many of the trolls official themes, used in the same-named walkaround flash.
There's a neat fact about this album. Toby started working on it around the time we started seeing what the trolls were actually like in the comic, with them as the kind of tracks that would have scored their game session, which he thought we'd never get to see. He named it Alternia, as a lot of the tracks were "alternate versions" of certain Homestuck themes: Skaian Summoning for Sburban Jungle, Crustacean was Karkat's Harlequin, and Showdown was his Showtime.
However, out of the blue, Hivebent started, and the very first few pages called for the troll planet to be named. Toby rushed to the forums and inputted "Alternia", and now it's the name of the planet.
