Summary (from the video description):

Chise and co. are being asked by Spriggan to solve the problem regarding the ghost hunting troops. They're now moving alongside the horse that has lost his master. During their search, they encounter them of the Land of Youth... ーー A mysterious boy wearing ancient clothes suddenly appeared. Gabriel is pleased for his mother is unable to see the other boy. His boring everyday life is no more. With the aim to help the boy regain his memory, they try to take action. Unbeknownst to them, the mysterious violet crystal glimmers eerily... The things I envy. The things I desire. What will be born from this relationship between one who lives with people and one who is detached from people?

Hi I'm kinda shy so do you have tips for starting to do fan-translations/getting in to the community?

Hi! In my experience, fan translations start with loving a series and wanting to share that love with other people. Oftentimes the contents (of manga or anime) are mostly in Japanese. As someone who can understand Japanese to a certain degree, I want to share the ‘exciting’ contents or news with more people and grow the fan base. I believe it benefits the original creator as well in the end (more people knows about the series and they’ll want to buy merch etc).

To start translating, just start! xD

Don’t worry too much about getting it one hundred percent right. I’m still learning myself and still don’t understand some Japanese words, but that’s where Google comes in handy. You can edit your posts (on Tumblr at least) when there are any wrong translations.

Find your comfort zone first, what kind of things you are confident to work with. For example, translating tweets and short articles. When you have no experience, suddenly being thrown into translating a whole manga or novel might get overwhelming. Start small, then grow!

To get into the community you can start with meeting fellow fans on discord or reddit. Mahoyome has quite a fanbase. On Tumblr you can start following the hashtag and get to know the blogs or people who often posts about the series. I’ve met many good supportive friends on Mahoyome discord. If you’re comfortable, come chat with us! You’ll find that we’re all dorks and otakus 😆

Synopsis

This story took place shortly before Cartaphilus fell asleep and Chise enrolled in The College. Having received the invitation from The College, Chise and Elias had begun to prepare themselves anxiously. In the midst of that, Spriggan came to visit them while bringing along an eerie horse.

“The ghost hunting troops have started behaving strangely,” he said.

―― Having moved from London, a normal boy named Gabriel was bored out of his mind due to his own circumstances, the separation from his friends, and the unfamiliar land.

At that time he looked out the window, seeking for an escape. There was a purple mist that he saw in a flash. He left the house to pursue it. To the world where the boy shouldn’t normally walk into, his story behind the thick veil in which magi lived began.
