All these rooms… This place builds them. It's like a maze… It just goes on and on. Sometimes I'm scared I'll get lost. BACKROOMS (2026) dir. Kane Parsons In Theaters May 29
I looked up from my phone and saw this.
Backrooms (2026)
BACKROOMS (2026) dir. Kane Parsons
Part 1
Backrooms (2026) - Kane Parsons, A24
Me the first half of The Backrooms: "oh I get it. He's a down on his luck failed architect and even more failed furniture store owner who's trying to better himself. He'll probably be fascinated with the furniture/architecture of the backrooms and start selling the items there for money + notoriety. And eventually he'll go deeper and deeper to get more and more items until he gets trapped and encounters The Horrors. A classic tale of hubris :) "
Me the second half of the backrooms:
okay i’m done after this (probably)
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
they should invent an enough that is enough
i can’t remember if i wrote this about ocd or money or buddhism or doom scrolling or self image or time or grief
what if I was slowly dying of internal bleeding and hypothermia and you stayed with me and read to me. Because you know I'm dying and you don't want me to be alone and scared (like you were). And what if I chose You, instead of heaven?
I’ll cry if I think about them for too long but you’re Charles Rowland you’re a biracial punk and you’ve been getting the shit kicked out of you by your father your entire life but you see a Pakistani kid getting beat for being Pakistani and you can’t help it, you’re afraid but you stop it. You’re half Indian why are you any different? The racist little white boys agree. They beat you too. You make it away. You’re cold, so cold and something’s very wrong with you, and then you see a light. But you’re not dead. It’s another boy your age and he tells you he’s dead. He died in this same shitty boarding school and he reads you a bedtime story as you fall asleep. You’re dead now and he’s still here. He knew you were dying and he didn’t want you to be scared. He crawled out of Hell and the first thing he did was comfort you as you lay dying.
Why wouldn’t you run from death with him? Why wouldn’t you spend your eternity with him? Why wouldn’t you love him?
The number of scarily accurate textpost memes you can make with these mfs is insane
DEAD BOY DETECTIVES S1 + TUMBLR REACTIONS
First meeting.
(You guys should really watch Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix. It's really good (and really queer))
I love media where the underlying message is to be kind , even if it isn’t the main plot.
I love media where the underlying message is that you are not the worst mistake you made and you are not the worst thing that happened to you
I love media where the underlying message is that people can change for the better
I love media that’s like love, actually is all around us
I love media that’s like “we can’t save anyone.” “we can always try.”
