The way 007Bonez can set the scene in his tracks, you feel like you are riding around Memphis while listening to Pyramid Musizck, a tribute to his hometown Memphis. One word to describe this project-player. Shaken not Stirred showcases his “playalistic” stylings. “Midas done touched my wrist/ Mission started armed and ready/007 equipped and the sauce is on heavily”. Loyal to the “Murda 8” sector of Memphis- also known as Raleigh- these four young men are not only artists, but representatives of a community associated with gang violence. We caught up with Chicago emcee, Goody, as he discusses about his upcoming EP, NoGood, his favorite song he has released so far, top five artists that are out right now and much more. As you can see, he is wearing the latest authentic sweatshirt, “DESIGNER,” from Ron Louis’s clothing line Phera. You also can know G.O.O.D. Music, Valee, rocking the brand as well in many of his visuals. The “Back” rapper has been on the move this year by releasing new music plus a bonus visual with it. With his latest single, “Freakr,” he recently opened up for Dreezy at V Live with the sensational stripper song. Robot's weird new single "Camera" sounds positively loopy, yet soothing. He shows a mastery of the weirdness that artists like Lil Yachty attempt to get to, but often settle for something tame. The Austin, TX native will be a force to watch in the future if he continues to innovate in this manner.

BIO

Robot is from the future. Ever since his birthday on April 20th,1994, also commonly known as the recreational Stoner's Holiday "Four Twenty" he has been paving his own lane as an iconic figure for the culture through his music. Robot has literally been an independent artist since the third grade when he manifested his first ever recorded project on a tape recorder his teacher gave him that year. To this day the young artist still writes, engineers, and records his own music.

On the last day of 2015 he released his first studio album, Table 50, featuring his hit single Pull Up (T.T.L.B). The success of this project expanded his market well beyond the Austin City Limits. The following year in 2016 he performed for Sigma Nu’s end of the semester party at Cornell University’s chapter house. Then a month later performed in LA for a Rare House ware house party.

Currently Robot and his campaign are preparing to release another album to catalyze a new series of projects to come from Bot. The first will be, “The Prototype”, set to drop in November this release will be the ultimate transition for Robot as an artist. 2017 has brought a lot of ups and downs for Robot but he says “becoming a father ultimately was the most influential thing that happened for me and I’m going to make a point to portray that in my music moving forward.” Until then Robot has released thus far his most influential music video for the single, "Westin" with super producer from Tulsa, Quez Queso. This track is technically the last we heard from the young artist but the vibes have carried some serious weight for his career in this brief hiatus reaching 30K views on YouTube in a matter of days after the drop.

City Girls

A new Miami duo called City Girls released their premier mixtape called “PERIOD” and fans are going crazy! For those who may not know, the City Girls are a Miami rap duo featuring Yung Miami and JT. These two were signed to Quality Control after their first song, “F*ck That N*gga” went viral. Their breakthrough song was produced by Chad Thomas, the same producer who made the beat for Apple of My Eye by Rick Ross.

The City Girls embody the classic Miami sound we have heard in fellow Florida artist Trina. Trina even did an interview and mentioned them when they first came out as a rap duo. Some have even said they are the hottest thing to come out of Miami since Trina.

Even though they are signed to QC - a label known for their iconic ATL flow of music- the City Girls stayed true to their Miami roots. Their mixtape “PERIOD” released last month reached Apple Music charts at No. 13 ending up as high as No. 9.

The duo has made it very far in a matter of months. JT recently admitted she was “traveling state to state scamming” two years ago and now she’s traveling doing shows. The rap duo also revealed how when they recorded “F*ck That N*gga”, they didn’t expect it to blow up that much. They were merely doing it for fun. Well, that was until the CEO of QC reached out to them and offered to sign them. Their humble beginnings, love and support from fans in their hometown is a real testament of how hard work and dedication can put you in a new place in life.

Mental Health Awareness: Remembering Kate Spade & Anthony Bourdain

This week alone the world lost two very inspirational people. Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain took their own lives by suicide due to mental health issues.

For those who don’t know, Kate Spade is the founder and creator of the iconic self-named handbag company Kate Spade. She started Kate Spade New York in 1993 and opened her first store just three years later. Kate Spade, 55, was in the middle of a divorce with her husband Andy Spade. Apparently, Andy wanted the divorce, but Kate was against it. In her suicide note, Kate addresses her 13-year-old daughter and tells her, “This has nothing to do with you… don’t feel guilty. Ask your Dad!” Some say the divorce battle played a part in her death. A NYPD source stated Spade was found hanged by a scarf she tied to a doorknob by her house keeper at about 10:10 a.m.

Anthony Bourdain, 61, was a talented chief and writer who traveled the world to give us an inside look on cultures, cuisine, and human condition for about two years. Bourdain was currently in France working on new episodes for his award-winning series on CNN called “Parts Unknown.” His close friend & well known French chef, Eric Ripert found him unresponsive in his hotel bedroom Friday morning. The reason behind his suicide is still unknown.

With these two deaths just days apart, one must really sit back and think about how mental health is important and should be discussed more often. Both of these individuals seems perfectly find to the outside world, but could have been dealing with many things on the inside. Suicide is obviously a growing problem here in the United States. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a survey Thursday showing suicide rates increased by 25% across the country over nearly two decades ending in 2016. There has been an increase in suicides by more than 30% in 25 states, government report finds.

As a country, more systems and programs should be placed to help people battling with mental health. If more people were aware of the resources that are available, maybe some would have took advantage of them.

Even though Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain are no longer with us physically, the impact these two have made on the world will be glorified forever.

This is a twerk track from the two hip-hop stars. Daisha McBride provides her smooth, lyrical flow and the feature from Evan Dupri makes the track heavier. To me, she sounds a bit similar to Kash Doll, but with a much better vibe. McBride has been going at it for a while and it only goes up from here. Kyro Swanks - Gangsta Grillz Video

Kyro is on it this year! He recently released his single “Gangsta Grillz,” produced by Gee Smiff, earlier this year and finally dropped a visual for it! The visual, shot and edited by MrHardaway, represents where Swanks grew up with has his team, Three Dolla$, along with his family and friends in the back supporting him. Back in April, Kyro performed his latest single and many more during a show at MTSU. Peep the visual below and find out more about the kid.

Tim Gent ft. Bryant Taylor - Vibin’

Tim Gent is back with another banger, his new single, “Vibin’.” This smooth, melodic track gets you “juiced up”. The song features wavy vocals from Bryant Taylorr.Taylorr speaks on the feeling of being out with your lady and catching looks in her direction. When I hear Bryant Taylorr, I hear John Legend type vibes. His voice is so soothing and elegant. We expect an EP from the Clarksville native, Tim Gent sometime soon! Our boy Goody keeps coming with the bangers! He provided us with a summertime stripper anthem with his latest single “Freakr”. He has all the strippers who go “bzerk” and go to work. “Front My Move” rapper has recently announced that he will be performing alongside Dreezy in Chicago next week. 12th Street Pharmacist - “Come Get Some Bars” visual

Atlanta native 12th Street Pharmacist has released a visual for his track “Come Get Some Bars”. The rapper has been out for a minute. The track is off his recent EP, House of Medicine. “Come Get Some Bars” is a catchy tune that you can bop to anywhere. Directed by MarquisTheGarden, the visual is something different that you wouldn’t expect with the gnarly edits and cartoony inserts. Wayne Greaty ft. Mike Floss - “Julia’s Interlude (remix)”

Wayne Greaty is back with the release of his single “Julia’s Interlude.” The track features Nashville native Mike Floss and is dope from beginning to end. It gives me vibes of when you are with a significant other smoking in the car and chilling. “Way Too High” rapper has recently released his nine-track debut project, “Abstract”, back in March. The project definitely has an LA vibe, just cruising on the road with palm trees everywhere. Featured artist Mike Floss has been in the game for a minute. His previous project, Tennessee Daydreams, you will truly get to know where he grew up has been in rotation nonstop.

he 2018 Met Gala took place Monday, May 7th, 2018, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City; might we just say, this one was one for the books! The event took a religious approach with this years theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. Some people found this theme to be very controversial, especially to people of the Catholic Church. Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Jeremy Scott and Oscar de la Renta were a few designers featured on the red carpet. This isn’t surprising because they have been known for using this type of theme in their previous collections.

The night was filled with many A-List attendees who took the theme to a whole different level. Stars such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and Kim Kardashian really came though leaving the crowd and viewers at home watching speechless. The crowds of people waiting at the star’s hotels to be the first to get a glimpse at tonight’s looks goes to show the magnitude of anticipation.

The looks weren’t the only surprises that were revealed tonight. 2Chainz proposed to his long time girlfriend Keisha and by the look on her face, she was in as much of a shock as the rest of the world watching. Nicki Minaj surprised us all revealing her new album, “Queen” will be released on June 15. This was a much-anticipated announcement since she recently released two visuals for her new songs “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” which may or may not be featured on this new album.

One appearance that was awaited but never showed up was Beyonce’ and JayZ. There are speculations that Beyonce skipped out on the event to take a trip with JayZ. Otherwise, socialites believe she would have had one of the best gowns of the night.

Legendary lyrics that we all know… Well should know…

‘The real is back/The Ville is back/Flow bananas/Here, peel this back.”

Indeed Jermaine is back with his third solo album, “KOD”. A purple flyer popped up all over J. Cole’s social media pages with information for a pop-up show. The flyer read “No Phones. No Cameras. No Bags. No Press List. No Guest List. Doors Open @ 6 P.M. First Come, First Served.” Immediately, fan across the world speculated that he would announce major news, specifically a new album. Though there were no phones allowed-of course there were some allowed-info leaked that a new album would arrive Friday, April 20.

Midnight Friday arrives, and all social media outlets are tuned in to the new album. Post of mixed reviews were everywhere, but one thing that everybody could agree on was that Cole spazzed out on the last track on the album “1985 (Intro to The Fall Off)”, check it out below.

Cole yells “1985… I arrived” and proceeds with lyrics we expect over a modern “Friday Night Lights” beat. Ten seconds in, it was clear Cole was on a mission. He began to address the new generation of artist but some of his lyrics were focused on a specific one. “I heard one of them dissed me/I’m surprised/ I ain’t tripping/ Listen good to my reply” said Cole as he continues to reference ways to stay afloat in the rap game and clearly warning this mystery person that smoke is not what they want. Though Cole didn’t put name on it, clearly fans knew who he was referring to after the first listen.

If it wasn’t apparent enough who J. Cole was referring to, the new generation rapper Lil Pump responds immediately via social media thanking him for at the clout given and that he was weak for dissing a 17-year-old, check out the clip below.

SmokePurpp, another ‘new generation’ rapper, lead a “F*ck J. Cole” chant at one his recent shows showing alliance to Lil Pump. The new generation rappers aren’t taking this track from Cole so well, but I think we all know that at end of the day, the warning shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Rolling Loud Miami is approaching its third year in the game and the lineup for the weekend has a lot of big name artists. For those who may not know, Rolling Loud debuted in 2016 in Miami for the first time ever. This is a 3-day rain-or-shine event that will take place May 11-13 this year at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. Although this is its third year happening, this will be the first year it will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium.

J. Cole, Travis Scott and Future will be the headliners with performances by Rick Ross, Lil Uzi Vert, N.E.R.D, Migos, Lil Wayne and many others. With Meek Mill’s release, there is some speculation he will possibly be added to the lineup.

This event is predicted to be the biggest summer kick off festival ever. Tickets are currently on sale with options of General Admission, VIP, and LIV Skyloft Experience. Tory Lanez drops his North American tour dates from his ‘Memories Don’t Die’ album on his Instagram page. He released his second studio album that dropped last month that is still in heavy rotation. With his hit single “Shooters” and “B.I.D.,” he will be in 52 cities starting in Miami, Florida on May 11, which he will be making a special appearance to the Rolling Loud festival on Mother’s Day weekend, and ending on August 11 at Birmingham, Alabama at Avondale Brewing Company.
