I know I just need to make drawing more consistent but every time I try my arm just aches
I won't work for someone who calls the Police on Protestors.
This past weekend, protesters were outside the gallery I intern at and unfortunately the owner decided to call the police. These were peaceful Protestors made up of different age ranges. The disgust that twisted in my stomach was unsettling. I decided to leave and try to process the situation. As someone who is relatively novice to the Art scene I was surprised as to how removed a gallery could be to the community they inhabit. I will not compromise my beliefs for a career in the Art world.
You know you've made it when you have weekends off
If I got paid at least minimum wage for my internship, i would make $560 more a month
I like to sketch from other works
While we were setting up the exhibit, I broke a finger off a foam hand sculpture.
I have an internship at a gallery now!!!!

My New Generes Final
I took a new generes art class in Spring of 2016. So finals came about and in most art classes finals consist of presenting a project that incorporates various aspects of the class. In my New Generes class this included mediums that we learned about in class (performance, audio, video, food, etc.). For my final I decided to collect all the art that as some moment I was proud of. I had kept a lot of my art starting from high school up to then, my 4th year at college. I would then take all of that art to my class at the day of the final and have my classmates tear it all up. The rules where that: 1. I could not participate in the destruction 2. Nothing could be saved. I also decided to play a CD that I was going to give to my ex, whom at the time was starting to show signs of wanting to break up with me. My intentions for my final were to put myself in the most uncomfortable position, where I could be passive. BUT WHAT REALLY HAPPEN THAT DAY WAS 100% MORE UNCOMFORTABLE AND PASSIVE. A few other students presented before me. During the presentation of the person before me our class got a notification that there was a possible shooting occurring on campus. Our class decided that we should continue with the presentations. I suppose we wanted to keep our day as normal as possible and not overreact to the possibility of a shooting. As I presented my project the shooting was confirmed and my classmates for the next 10min let out their frustration on my art. After those 10min a victim was confirmed and rumors of other possible shooters and victims started to circulate. We decided to end the final presentations. And we did what most people do in the situation we found ourselves; worry, reassure loved ones, check on friends, and stay updated. I decided to clean up the trash from produced by my final in a large trash bin and cried. As the time went on my classmates needed to use the restroom but they were unable to go the restrooms due to lockdown. So it was decided that the trash bin where I had thrown away scraps and fully intact drawings was going to be our toilet. Everyone excluding my self used that trash bin. Finally, the situation was contained and we were allowed to leave our classroom and campus. There were two deaths, one being the shooter.
