âHold still, Iâm trying to help!â
âOUch! Stop that!â Cecil couldnât stay still as he tried to pull loose. âI thought you were the one who set this trap! It says Strex right on the side of it!â
unfulfilledvisceraspilled:
Strex is life, Strex is love, Strex is law. An unfortunate reality that, even now, was something that anyone would have to deal with when it came to dealing with anyone from the Bluffs. One giant inescapable Picnic was more than enough to ruin a whole townâs mindset.
He didnât respond to his double as Cecil freed himself. Mainly because he couldnât. Kevin was delusional but he at least understood that being this close to the trap and pushing on it with his hands put himself in a difficult position. Maybe he shouldâve used someone elseâs hands.
This situation did have its morbid benefits; leaving him alone with this situation would finish the job of killing your Double. No more tattling to authority, sunshine, or weird PSAs involving teeth and capitalism and the only blame would be faulty outdated Strex property. As Kevin continued to be distracted with the trap and trying to keep it from snapping, kneeling down and eyes focused on the threat, he didnât exactly have a say in the matter.
Cecil watched him. Finishing wrapping and splinting his ankle with anything he could find. That look, it was focused but he was also becoming lost in thought. It was true. He could just leave him here like this to kill his double and finally be free of anything that ever reminded him of StrexâŠâŠ well except for the brand he wore on his right shoulder.
it took a moment for Cecil to focus again. Going to his knees and putting his hands next to Kevinâs. âHey we just need to slowly close the trap. Keep your fingers straight out so they wonât be anywhere near the teeth of the trap.â As much as his double had caused issues he didnât want him dead or horribly injured. âReady?â
As oblivious as he seemed there was a part deep in the back of Kevinâs mind that registered the tiniest trace of disappointment in Cecilâs behavior, about being denied the opportunity to relieve himself of a massive burden. Canât say that he would have even blamed the other radio host because there was also a part of Kevin that wanted to stick his own head in the trap.
âWell-- alright then, Cecil. Letâs give it the olâ cohost cooperation to deal with this ancient contraption.â With their hands together, the similar anatomy made any differences jarring: the subtle kinks in the phalanges from broken, healed, broken, and healed again injuries and the unnervingly cold hands from a man who likely lost blood on the inside as much as he pulled out of interns from the outside. Long ago they probably would have been so similar to Cecilâs that itâd have been hard, in the case of mass amputation from Black Friday, to figure out what belonged to whom. Not so much now.
He hummed in cheery affirmation to Cecilâs query. "As ready as I can be... partner~!â
