Hikari watched Arthuros as he ate the treat. She could have sworn that she had shown him mochi at least once, but the more she thought about it, the more it was confirmed she actually hadn’t. Until now. And he was enjoying it.

“I am surprised you enjoyed it. Not many do unless you have grown up with it. The texture of the rice cake and the azuki bean filling normally drive some away from it.” She smiled up at the lich. “We call it mochi. A sweet perfect for any occasion.”

“Oh I love it~!”

He waves a hand to pour her some tea while immediately grabbing another one, pointing at it with childishly excited eyes. What an exciting flavour! Not too overwhelming yet it dances so subtly on your tongue. Not to mention a chewy texture he had never encountered before. 

“Mochi, is it? With red bean? A rice cake? Interesting...I must remember this for the future.”

Arthuros calmed down a little after almost inhaling the second mochi, swallowing all of the rice cake in one fell swoop without choking even once. Unnerving to watch.

“Thank you for visiting, Hikari. It’s times like these where I am reminded that the world that engulfs us is not completely rotten. You warm this lich’s heart.”

He pours his own tea, gulping it down. It seems that he has forgotten his manners over the years.
