Another Blog, Another Artist

I’ve been on instagram for ages and now I think it’s time I stepped back and explored other forms of sharing my art.

After listening to the Creative Podcast by Andy J Pizza, I’ve come to realize I’ve been trying to fit into a mold that is no longer suitable.

Instagram has become an addiction of likes and views that I can’t be chasing anymore. Chasing and obsessing - addiction really. I’ll still continue to post on it, but I need to try something new. I hope that I can find my way here, or at the very least push me in the right direction. As of now, I’m planning to post sketches/art process/thoughts. Maybe later I’ll introduce my Patreon for early sketches and full pieces, but first thing’s first : post for fun not $$$

What are my interests?

My favorite shows are Dungeon Meshi, Mob Psycho 100, Ouran Host High school Host Club, Batman the Animated Series, Invader Zim, Adventure Time, Demon Slayer, Arcane, FMAB, and I’m sure there’s more lol

My favorite game is BG3 (it’s the only one I’ve played)

My favorite subjects to draw are forest, fantasy, self portraits, tigers and many doodles

My favorite music genre is Rock, I’m so into 21 pilots, SIAMES, and Hall and Oats to name a few

Sometimes the only way to avoid all the negative talks is to remind myself: as long as I'm doing my part, I'll keep getting money lol. I swear I have 2 devils and 1 shy angel /j . I've been writing these posts when time decides to stop (working full time is fine until 1 hits lol)

The kind of mentality that kept me from experiencing college more. i still regret it! It's funny to think about though, in some ways. In others, it's nice to know that I have grown up from that. Not entirely, but still quite a significant amount.

I had time to play with color today. Can't say i like what I grabbed out of my drawer, but it's something. Hopefully as time increases ill be more purposeful with my coloring.

My dog absolutely hates thunder storms. He insisted on being on me - even if that meant hoisting himself up onto my lap WHILE I'm in a small office chair. I was only able to draw this after the storm lol. Poor guy.

I could definitely see myself redrawing this one.

Time: 8 Minutes

I have never been on a lunch meeting out side our small company. I could hardly eat my tortilla soup and was too self conscious to take it to go. We were going over my new responsibilities as a now full time employee. I didn't have to talk much, but i felt guilty about that too.

As time gets added, I continue to get used to how I should proceed with my comics. Do I use pencil and then Pen? Pen is nice but too fast. Pencil helps with less mistakes, but I spend too much time erasing!

The self worth i tie to being perfect isn't healthy. I get angry and then sad when things just seem to be going wrong. Working full time with new responsibilities is the perfect thing to get my mental status derailed. I can only tell myself things will get easier with time.

I'll come out of the closet and say, i might be in the closet. Or I'm just so socially anxious that i feel uncomfortable dressing in a super fem way.

Point is, dressing up in a feminine way is difficult for me. I'm not quite sure how to dress the way i want and still be "nice". How do i show respect for an event without feeling so annoyed by my clothing and makeup?

No hate to any one who dresses femininely, you guys look good. I just feel like an alien.

First off: I was not in the mood to draw!

Secondly, this was an embarrassing moment at the pharmacy. I was getting meds for my grandfather and i was supposed to input his birth date. I know I verbally said 9 (for the month) and so when I was inputting it, i did think to change the month number. This poor guy just kept asking if i wanted to try again at least 6 times. I thought i had the year wrong and even put down he was born in the 1800's (SO WRONG). Then it hit me. August is the 8th month. Not the 9th LMAO

Today was a hard day. Starting full-time with new duties and responsibilities was hell. A lot of my self worth is centered around doing things right no matter what. And if I make a mistake, I immediately think I'm the worst person in the world and I'm letting everyone down.

That's not true of course, but I really want to do a good job (and EARN money, not just do nothing). Unfortunately, there are long spans of time where I'm doing nothing, so it kinda really gets to me LOL.

At 3 minutes I thought i could make a comic more than two panels. It was possible, but at the cost of character continuity.

Rules

Draw every day starting at 1 minute (ex: day 1 = 1 minute, day 2 = 2 minutes, etc. )

Post on a blog (or as i interpreted it, a low stakes account)

(and this one is from me) Don't be perfect :)

1 minute is one of the hardest ones to do: not because it's long, not because I didn't have an idea, but because I wanted to keep going. I wanted to do Day 2 already, maybe even go up to Day 5.

Also, small spoiler, I have done these in advance. I have also skipped more than 1 day in between. But there's no consequences so it's okay! It's for fun

This exchange between a female coach and 7th grade me has stuck with me for so long.

Now, I'll give her some benefit of the doubt that we had weighed ourselves at the school and I forgot, since this is an old memory.

I swear we didn't though. I think she assumed that all preteen girls weighed themselves often enough to know when asked. I never ever felt inclined to, so when she gave me a funny look and asked me how, I felt stupid. Was this what being a girl meant? Checking your weight? I didn't understand, I felt like an alien, yet again.
