My dad thought that my friends were influencing me to make me trans. The kids at school constantly make fun of me (unknowingly) by making jokes about “I identify as an attack helicopter” and “people wanna be called genderblender!” all the fucking time. That is not cisnormativity - that is being so aware of your goddamn MOGAI genders and thinking they’re so stupid that suddenly every trans person ever is a faker doing it for attention.

It’s not just social, either. What about the wait lines for getting HRT and surgery? So many non-dysphoric trans people are going into the system and taking resources from dysphoric trans people (who would likely kill themselves without them, might I add) and then either 1. detransitioning later because they develop real dysphoria or 2. being happy with their new body because they did actually have dysphoria in the first place (and from what I’ve seen, this is not a majority of those cases).

And then there’s demedicalization. You know what happens when transsexualism (or “transgenderism” since you fucks think MY OWN DAMN WORD is a slur) is demedicalized? We have to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to get our HRT and surgery. It’ll be seen as nothing more than a cosmetic change. You’re TRYING to make people see trans people as nothing more than someone who decided “I’m gonna get a tattoo!” Because that’s what a cosmetic change is. Not to mention, trans people are already not likely to get jobs because discrimination, so where the FUCK are we gonna get all that money?

And before you say “we’ll just change the healthcare system!!” that ain’t happening. Not in my lifetime and not in yours. Also, being trans is literally a medical condition because dysphoria is a neurological disorder and it is relieved (but not 100% cured) once we transition. You say it’s harmful to be seen as what we are? Then fucking change the world’s attitudes on mental and medical disorders and conditions. You know what you non-dysphoric people do when you take HRT from dysphoric trans people? You take a prescription reserved for a depressed person when you’re not depressed, you take adderall for pleasure when an person with ADHD needs it to focus, you take the treatment away from the people who need it so you can play fucking dress-up.

Why don’t you people listen to science already and stop harming my community?
