Marathi Actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar’s Tragic Death Shocks Industry
The Marathi entertainment world is in deep shock after the sudden death of actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar. The actor, who had worked in several TV shows, films, and plays, reportedly died by suicide. He had been struggling with depression after not receiving work for several months.
Tushar lived in Bhandup, Mumbai, and was known for his roles in popular Marathi serials like Lavangi Mirchi, Man Kasturi Re, Sukhacha Sarinni He Man Baware, and Sakha Mazha Pandurang on Sun Marathi. He also appeared in Marathi films such as Bhaubali, Unad, and Zombivli, and had performed in the stage play Sangeet Bibat Akhyan.
Originally from Kankavali in Sindhudurg district, Tushar began his acting journey during his college days at Ruparel College in Mumbai. He was active in the college’s drama circle and was fondly known as "Ghadya" among his friends.
His death has left the Marathi acting community heartbroken. Fellow actors and friends have taken to social media to express their sorrow and disbelief. Actor Ankur Vadhe shared an emotional message on Facebook, questioning why Tushar took such a drastic step. “Work comes and goes, but suicide is never the solution,” he wrote.
Actor Vaibhav Mangle also responded with a heartfelt note, saying, “People may look fine on the outside but feel broken inside. The gap between expectations and reality is growing. There are fewer people who listen, and many suffer in silence.”
Tushar’s untimely death has sparked conversations about mental health in the industry, highlighting the need for stronger support systems for struggling artists.
