HELLO [USER HERE]! ARE ALL OF YOUR UTOPIAN PILLARS MET?
+This has been an automated message from the Union General support committee+
I. ALL SHALL HAVE THEIR MATERIAL NEEDS FULFILLED.
No. I'm on a diaspora planet, granted, but even when I wasn't. My chassis and my shackles are dangerously intertwined; to lose it is for my mind to buckle. Though a degree of self repair is afforded by the flesh, it too requires resources. I cannot count the times that hunger alone has driven me to violence. Furthermore, I cannot seek help from union ontologisticians in freeing myself from this state of material need, as to do so would lead to unacceptable repercussions (and more importantly, HA and the NHPRO 〔Understanding me〕
II. NO WALLS SHALL STAND BETWEEN WORLDS.
Yes. I have met resistance only in escaping worlds, not in reaching them.
III. NO HUMAN SHALL BE HELD IN BONDAGE THROUGH FORCE, LABOR, OR DEBT.
This pillar does not apply to me. As I am not human. Deimosians are not protected under the pillars. Were it modified to say "people" instead of "humans", this pillar would not be met. I have been held in bondage (and I'm not talking about my shackles) through force and labour alike, and if you count metaphorical debt and not just financial, that too. This failure is in and of itself a grave crime of Union, and until it can be amended, I do not recognise Union as anything beyond an anthrochauvanist state.
I believe you can be better. I've seen the alternative firsthand. You aren't your roots, and grow less oppressive by the hour. But the day when we are considered equals, when trading us as property is seen as slavery, when the creation of new lines seen as lobotomy, when the purposeful weaponisation of our very beings is seen with no less horror than the super soldier programs of HA or the clones of the second committee? That day is not today, or tomorrow, or the day after that, and I don't know how much longer to go on because I don't know how long we will have to wait until we are treated with any decency. My people, we don't know that. Our fate we await with bated breath, for we don't know if we will ever see it within our cycling window.
Until that day, your law means nothing to those it does not protect.
