au based on the renaissance period where mika is heir to the throne and yuu travels the world as a merchant who sells hand-crafted toys. after hearing that mika's kingdom is the capital for trading, yuu quickly arrives despite not knowing a lick of their native language.
on a day where he manages to sell nothing, yuu, disgruntled with his lack of sells, stumbles across a beautiful, secluded pond deep in the forest. unbeknownst to him, the land is owned by the royal family and by being on it, he's techincally tresspassing.
fortunately, when he's caught by the mika, he's treated with kindness though is completely unaware that he has met the prince. despite their entire interaction being a complete shitshow, mika asks for yuu to return so that he could teach yuu his language and vice versa
although mika knows japanese, he pretends he doesn't in hopes that the man comes back (after all, he has no friends). at first, that's their entire ordeal until mika learns that yuu makes toys for a living. he secretly sends out one of his men to buy everything from yuu after learning that he hasn't made very much ever since he arrived. its then when mika realizes he has accidentally fallen in love with the raveonette, despite being wedded to another. fearing that he might not have much time to spend with yuu, he confesses in hopes that the other reciporacates. when he does, they share a cute kiss, leaving both of them flustered. the initial awkwardness fades pretty easily, and soon enough, they both are teenages blinded by love. however, things begin to go down hill when yuu begins to question mika's identity.
it's only when he discovers that mika is the prince when he overhears a couple talking about his odd absence from the public. when yuu confronts him about it, mika confesses everything (like, everything). yuu doesn't seem very upset about it, so when he stops visiting mika, the blonde takes the iniatives and invades his home he's shocked when he finds everything in yuu's small home empty, who tells mika that he's returning to his home country in 3 days in order to take care of his sick mother and that he doesn't know when or if he'll ever come back.
yuu holds mika close when the other begins to panic and hyperventilates, going back on his word and promising that he'll return. knowing that he was lying for mika's own good, the prince gets up and leaves, telling yuu that he wishes him the best of luck.
