Filled with so many delectable treats, Universal Studios is filled with incredible treats and sweets! At this blog, we'll go over the many wonderful foods at this theme park and give honest reviews of all the many treats!
This delicious drink is non-alcoholic. It’s also non-cough syrup and non-fire.
After watching the tenth episode of The Simpsons' third season, I knew I had to try this boozy drink. To give some background of the episode:
Homer tells Moe his secret drink recipe
Moe takes the recipes and profits from it
Wow that pretty much summed it all up!!
& Aerosmith is in it!
So, over the weekend, I strolled into Moe’s Tavern and ordered myself a Flaming Moe (or Homer)
When I got my drink, I was definitely conflicted. Although my drink wasn’t Krusty's Non Narkotik Kough Syrup purple, it was smoking (thanks to dry ice).
And while I knew my drink had no alcohol in it, I expected it to be more than just orange soda.
Overall, for the price of $7.99, the Flaming Moe was nothing more than orange soda with a bit of pizzazz.
I wouldn’t recommend this as the thirst quencher and definitely not if you’re just craving orange soda, but its a neat experience for any Simpson fan to sit in Moe Tavern and a nifty souvenir cup too!
Since its opening in the Spring of 2018, Voodoo Doughnuts has brought a wicked sense of sweetness to CityWalk!
Voodoo Doughnuts was founded in Portland, Oregon and currently has only 6 stores (including the ones in Florida and California). They posses many different flavors and include tons of different vegan options.
I actually tried to enter this shop soooo many times when it came out but this place was PACKED. They have a roped off line near the left of the store to help crowd control and with the intense Florida heat, I knew I’d just have to come back another day.
So I knew this weekend was going to be great when my family and I walked into an empty store. No lines. No heat. Hallelujah.
The interior matches the quirky theme on pink and patterns. They have a wall on the left for merch such as t-shirts, mugs, and key chains and in the center was a glass case that displayed the various doughnut options.
The doughnuts are priced from $1.75 - $2.00 and are pretty well sized. My group of six got a total of five doughnuts
Portland Creme
Diablos Rex
Double Chocolate
ODB
Voodoo Doughnut
Portland Creme
As devoured by my dad - he recalled the creme as delicious yet the chocolate frosting on top to be overwhelmingly sweet.
Diablos Rex
Eaten by my younger sister, she recalls the doughnut being “simple and sweet.”
Double Chocolate
:( I guess I forgot to take a picture but my mom had this doughnut! Despite how fast she ate this, she thought her doughnut was nothing special and compared it to the ones at Dunkin Doughnuts!
ODB
Yes! Old Dirty Bastard (but not the rapper) tasted by my old (yet not dirty or a bastard) sister was considered too sweet to eat! Along with the Portland Creme, these doughnuts were about the size of a magic 8 ball!
Voodoo Doughnut
The only vegan option we got, this jelly-filled doughnut was loved for it’s uniqueness yet not his flavor :( HOWEVER I 100% blame that on the fact that no one in my whole family likes jelly doughnuts. I think we bought him cause of his cute expression.
Overall Opinion
Despite the rather average reviews from my family, I thought these doughnuts were awesome! As a sweets lover (I have seven cavities to prove it), I too thought these doughnuts were a bit on the sweet side. The price is very good for such exclusive doughnuts and the wide variety of flavors meant there was a perfect match for anyone!
Tip: I do recommend getting less doughnuts than you’d think you’d need and to ask the workers for their recommendations.
As for my next visit, I most definitely plan to try the Orangesicle doughnut and take a cute pic at their giant doughnut throne (both exclusive to the Florida location only)!
So, lmk what you guys think! Did these doughnuts make you go nuts?
