gentle reminder that using someone's preferred name is always the right thing to do. even if they didn't change their name for gender reasons, even if it's just a shortened version of their given name, or their middle name, or a name they came up with that still matches their assigned gender. it's common decency to call someone what they feel comfortable being called. even if you think it's unprofessional or it's not what's written on the call sheet or whatever. those are made up rules. make an effort, i promise you'll get used to it in no time, and it might make all the difference to them.
