the idea of hakuyuu picking a commoner as consort post-coronation is not actually far off. it's like a WIP forever in my head.

because after hakutoku's death picking a daughter from a random commoner family actually resets alliances and assures loyalty more than picking someone from the court. and it would be hakuren's idea because he's crazy. it was a joke until it wasn't. and it will work. i want to write this for him so bad.

and she's like audacious enough to come to the emperor directly, skipping magistrate--much more audacious than yuei (my oc paired with hakuren). no one in the court is surprised that the two eldest princes picked capable women who challenged them constantly. because one brother is the emperor and the other brother is second-in-line until a nephew is born.
