Lan Zhan thoughts:

Why can I easily picture Lan Zhan in a modern au being the equivalent of a sad emo goth romantic (Romeo style) writing sad poetry and music in his spare time. But outwardly has to look like a put together rich boy (with the side of shelterness you see in really repress kids in really religious cult families) because he has to constantly be the perfect second jade of lan heir. Add in cloud recesses in a modern au being like a rich boarding school. My sad queer boy who doesn't know he's lonely (maybe he does but he doesn't let himself think too deeply about it) and then boom one day he meets Wei Ying. And his life is never the same again.
