The Anamorphic Sculptures of Bernard Pras

French artist Bernard Pras demonstrates innovation and resourcefulness in these elaborate anamorphic sculptures. For those new to the genre, anamorphosis is the act of creating art that is meant to be viewed from a particular perspective. Gallery patrons often walk into his exhibits perplexed by a seemingly meaningless pile of random junk and found objects. This confusion is instantly transmuted into wonder once the visitor steps into Bernard’s intended alignment and the picture aligns into place to reveal a cultural icon, or famous painting. It is a fascinating technique that took him decades to master as he evolved from more traditional approaches to art.
