In my personal opinion, I hate religion. I believe that religion was written thousands of years ago by man, documenting historic stories and societal issues back then. Why the fuck would people still give credit to such scriptures to today’s time? I believe these scriptures should be treated like historic literature, and with all respect, not something to worship. I do agree religion gives people a sense of comfort when they don’t know what is going in their life, feeling distressed or guiding their life. That is fine and all. But the aspect that causes me conflict is that people would attribute natural causes to a higher power. Please. No. Just. No. Do some scientific research and educate yourself. Thanking a higher power… is thanking air. Furthermore, look how religion is tearing the fabric of society, such as homosexuality. Some religious people are just ignorant! How dare they not allow two people be together just because of their reproductive organs. Ugh! It fucking pisses me off. Another thing that makes me really deeply sad is I’m dating a Muslim. People tell me we’re in the 21st century and interracial relationships are common, etc. And I agree. However, he is religious and anyone who is familiar with Islam, it is forbidden to date/marry an Atheist. It’s a constant heart-break feeling I have to endure with him. We both know we wouldn’t end up together. He decides to date me because we make each other happy and it hurts him too that he couldn’t see a future with me. So to reiterate, I hate religion. I know it’s a personal bias, since it’s interfering with my relationship. There’s also other factors, such as culture and languages. However, I feel that religion influences culture and vise versa. It’s just a few things that is in conflict with me.
Having said this, I will respect anyone’s religion. This means that I will let you live your way of life, and I hope you do the same to me. I wouldn’t inflict my morals/beliefs on you and neither would you. Mutual respect.
There will be a day that scientific research will discover many novel ideas that we will no longer give credit to religion or a higher power. After all, religion is gradually declining, as we are scientifically advancing.
