     obi - wan  promptly  stamps  down  any  sort  of  emotion  he’s  feeling,   putting  up  a  cold  wall.   this  is  a  professional  exchange,   nothing  more.   he  needs  them  to  be  discreet,   he’s  only  discussed  this  with  the  council  and  even  then  he’s  asked  it  to  be  kept  on  the  quiet  for  now  until  he’s  certain there’s  a  leak  leading  back  to  the  jedi  order.   any  warmth  or  annoyance  or  whichever  it  may  be  is  no  longer  in  his  eyes  as  he  regards  bail’s  agent.

     he  wonders  briefly  just  how  extensive  his  cybernetics  are—   and  what  use  they  could  be  to  this  operation.   something  he’ll  have  to  ask  later.   ❝  as  soon  as  the  sun  rises.   there  tends  to  be  an  increase  of  people  in  the  archives  early  in  the  morning  as  they  gather  information  for  their  day.   it  would  be  easier  to  appear  as  though  we’re  going  about  our  business.  ❞

     obi - wan  pushes  his  hand  into  the  long  sleeve  of  his  cloak  and  pulls  out  a  flimsi.   ❝  all  the  information  i  have  for  you  is  written  on  here.   memorize  it,   then  burn  it.   i  don’t  know  how  deep  this  conspiracy  goes.  ❞   oh  dear,   he  almost  grimaces,   i’m  starting  to  sound  like  bail.

     there's  a  brief  flash  of  emotion  across  ezra's  face  ---  too  quick  to  really  pin  down  exactly  what  it  was  ---  and  then  it's  gone  again ,  leaving  his  expression  blank  and  unreadable  as  he  stares  up  at  obi-wan  for  a  moment .  a  couple  beats  of  silence  pass  between  them  as  he  surveys  the  jedi ,  almost  as  if  he's  sizing  him  up .

     he  can  only  assume  that  obi-wan  doesn't  know  anything  about  him ;  he  feels  that  he's  probably  highly  unlikely  to  be  common  knowledge  ---  and  he  highly  doubts  bail  would  have  told  him  anything  without  giving  ezra  warning  he'd  done  so .

     another  moment  of  silence ,  and  he  reaches  out  to  take  the  flimsi ,  tucking  it  into  a  secret  pocket  in  his  chair  before  meeting  obi-wan's  eyes  again .    ❝  how  much  d'you  know  about  me ?  ❞    he  doesn't  want  to  start  at  the  beginning  if  he  doesn't  have  to ,  but  he'd  rather  his  new  friend  know  at  least  enough  to  not  be  hit  with  any  surprises  while  they're  at  the  temple .

oh also while i’m thinking of it. re: my star wars verse: i don’t give a shit how good the medical system is, ezra will never be cured. he wouldn’t want to be, anyway. his cybernetic enhancements are enough for him --- he’s HAPPY being in his chair. the only part that was upsetting to him was his memory loss, because he cannot emotionally handle not knowing things that he should know, or not being able to access memories he knows he has.

and this also applies to my fantasy verse (that i’m still contemplating/working on fleshing out): he will never be cured, even if there’s a possibility for him to be. he is happy being disabled.

have i made the post yet that ez crochets? because he does. if he really likes you you’ll probably get something handmade for your birthday. it’ll take him a while, because crocheting can be kind of hard on his hands, and he is... extremely particular about his craft. but he’ll do it.

     the  man's  words  startle  ezra ,  causing  him  to  drop  the  folder  he's  holding  ---  sending  papers  flying  everywhere .  he  lets  out  a  soft  curse  and  then  looks  up  with  an  irate  expression  on  his  face ,  that  quickly  turns  to  faint  disbelief  at  his  question .  there's  a  part  of  him  that  feels  distinctly  uncomfortable  next  to  this  stranger ;  not  the  wrongness  that  always  seems  to  cloak  those  who  have  given  themselves  into  the  service  of  an  entity ,  that's  pretty  par  for  the  course  for  as  long  as  he's  been  working  at  the  archives .

     no ,  the  discomfort  comes  swiftly  on  the  heels  of  a  quick  examination :  fitted  suit ,  posh  accent ,  the  bearing  of  someone  well  off ,  and  very  used  to  being  so .  his  nose  wrinkles  ever  so  slightly  as  he  suddenly  knows  that  this  man  is  a  landlord .  the  discomfort  entirely  disappears ,  replaced  by  a  vague  irritation  at  his  proximity .  ezra  scoffs .    ❝  uh ,  not  for  a  good  couple  years ,  dude .  ❞    this  man  does  not  deserve  the  respect  he  so  clearly  is  given .    ❝  maybe  try  the  graveyard .  might  have  more  luck  there .  ❞
