A long trip indeed. Elijah leaned on his hand against the door, keeping his other hand on the wheel. Not even 5 minutes in and they were already sassing each other. Could three people be so close and yet so distant as they were? Or was this just anxiety talking? He couldnât be sure anymore. He glanced over as Hannah was messing with the screen. He gave a smile, â Easy, Han. â Her excitable nature was nice, distracting. At least pulsing ache in his temples. Relax, Eli. The weekend has only just begun.
His eyes glanced to Hannah as she picked a song. He gave a hum, looking up again, â A bit of an old soul, arenât you? â he teased with a laugh, â I wonder how many of them are still alive? â A cheerful thought, sure, but he started to wonder. The original members of Guns Nâ Roses would probably be pushing 80 by now. He never paid much attention the bands themselves, but curious procrastination researching was always the stuff that stuck clearest with him. Useless facts that served no real purpose.Â
He tapped at the screen to check the map for a moment. A nice long stretch of highway was waiting for them. If the weather was still correct, they should be able to make it far enough without stopping. He returned his hand to the wheel and looked up to the sky above the road ahead. The storm clouds were already starting to roll in. And they were dark and foreboding. He sped up just a bit as he merged on the highway, leaning on his hand against the door again.
