“Komaeda-kun… right?” He seemed enough like the person Hinata described to him, in any case.

“Um… Are you any good at matters like Criminal Justice? It seems like sort of a weak point of mine… There’s just too much to remember.” Makoto was also pretty underwhelming when it came to his gym class, but wouldn’t asking for help in that department place just a little too much of a burden on someone else?

"That's would be me." he smiles here, before becoming a bit hesitant, "..although, I can't seem to recall your name..? I'm awfully sorry if we've met before and I've forgotten it..!"

"Criminal Justice? That shouldn't be too difficult to explain, so long as you're alright with me giving a few lengthy explanations here and there. The teacher for that class is a bit vague sometimes, if I remember correctly.."

Not that Nagito himself wouldn't be a bit hard to understand, of course... 

"Are there any other classes you might need help with? If it's something I can't help with, I'm sure I could point you in the direction of someone who's much more capable than myself!"

"If anyone needs help with studies, I'm more than willing to assist you! That is part what upperclassmen are for, isn't it? Maybe there could even be a study group, if people think it's a good idea..?"

freaky friday? @komaeda

Celestia was silent throughout her classes today.  She paid attention, did her own homework (for once), and then went straight back to her room.

Something was horribly, horribly wrong.

She didn’t feel like bossing anyone around. She felt insecure about her hair extensions for the first time ever, and cast them aside. Celes felt…not like herself at all. She felt like an excitable puppy, or maybe…ugh. This would not do, no, not at all.

Maybe it’s just an off day…no. Celestia Ludenberg doesn’t have “off” days. Impossible. Maybe some TV would ease her mind…

She walked out of her room and into the small living room, falling into the soft chair, when the door to the dorm opened with a click. Celes felt compelled to say something, anything…

“Hey, Nagito…how are you today?”

From the moment he'd awoken, something had felt a bit off-key. It wasn't something he could particularly hope to explain, other than maybe.. a bad mood? It was unusual, for sure, though he took notice that the others around him were also unlike their typical selves. 

Peculiar.

He plays nice and excuses himself from a conversation with a particularly annoying girl ( ...annoying? he doesn't remember her being this way. ) and retreats to his dorm with.. a surprising amount of grace and elegance. He quirks a brow at the sound of Celestia's voice, turning to face her with a disgustingly saccharine smile- but why?

"Ah, Celes-san! It's very unlike you to start a conversation with me, isn't it?"- he takes a moment here to pause and give a curt chuckle, suddenly finding himself.. bemused with his roommate, almost?- "Things are alright, although.. I wonder if the same can be said for you...?"

survey--! [ open ]

There's a cheery voice that calls out, belonging to Nagito. Bundled very haphazardly, he stands with a clipboard in one hand, waving students over cautiously with the other. His breath comes out in small puffs and the tip of his nose pinks from the cold, but from the looks of it.. he has no intention of going inside just yet.

"Aa-- excuse me..! If it's not too much trouble.. would you mind answering a few questions for me? It's for a survey, after all, but it's alright if you decline! It's understandable that you'd be busy..."

Hinata pressed his lips together into a tight line and turned his attention back to the window. They passed a lot of shops on the ride here, but right now, all he could see were trees and hills from a park that was supposedly along the way. A playground passed by the window too quickly for him to depict how many kids were running around it, but the sight made him sigh a little bit. Ah, what it was like to be young…

Well, not that he was old, but he felt rather aged right now with all of the irritation that was tucked underneath his somewhat tolerant attitude (it was obvious that this tolerance was running out, however). He gaze turning back to Komaeda, he frowned momentarily before forcing a smile.

“It’s cold. I hope there’s not too much of a crowd..” But of course there probably would be. It was just his luck, after all. “We’ll manage if there is, but.. it’s good to be hopeful, isn’t it.” The way he said that made it obvious it wasn’t a question — in fact, his tone was pretty flat..

He keeps himself perched on the edge of the plastic seat, hands clasped loosely in his lap. The scenery flashes past them in bursts of brick and tree, each place looking the same as the one that comes before it- not that he particularly minds. It's where they're going that he's really interested in, a supposed national landmark and symbol of pride for the nation.

A vague sigh pulls his focus away from the window and back towards the brunette,  confusion and concern furrowing Nagito's brow. Was he upset about the trip? Or perhaps he was having second thoughts about spending time with him? It's understandable, with all that's happened within this one day -- they hadn't even reached their destination yet, so maybe...?

"If.. you want to change your mind and head back, I understand-- my luck's made it difficult for you enough already, and I don't want to be a nuisance or waste Hinata-kun's precious time.."

Hope, huh...

Hinata was not pleased. Having decided to take a day trip with one of his friends, who was quite frankly probably his closest friend (whether or not that was by choice, no one really knew) to some spectacular landmark that they hadn’t gotten the chance to visit just yet, it seemed disappointing that the ride there wasn’t up to par. Well, no, maybe he was just being overly selective like usual, but Hinata figured that he had room to complain when there was a little kid kicking the back of his seat and a really loud, obnoxious talker across the aisle and HOLY CRAP could the teenage girl in front of them play her MCR any louder because he could totally hear it through her headphones. Whatever.

Moving on, he really hoped that the bus ride was almost over, considering that they had to swap buses three times and had been on this last one for what seemed like forever (in actuality, it had been around thirty minutes). Hinata leaned over to tap Komaeda’s shoulder lightly, frowning at his discomfort because of the kangaroo kid behind him. “How much longer do you think?” It was unlike him to be so impatient, but considering the situation… He couldn’t be blamed, right?

He's been looking forward to this day before he even knew it was planned. For someone to willingly go ahead and set aside time for someone like him was a good case of luck, yes, but Nagito would almost be willing to believe it's nothing short of a miracle when it's Hinata who wants to go sight-seeing with him.

The mess of bus rotations and bothersome citizens around them doesn't come off as much of a surprise for him. It's.. expected, rather, and he's only minding it on this particular day because of who's with him. The irritation is coming off of Hinata in waves, causing Nagito to offer a nervous smile when the boy leans over and asks him a question he just barely catches over the music blaring from the girl a seat ahead of them.

"The last bus took us about halfway last time, right? It can't be too much longer, I'd imagine, especially since the third time is supposedly the charm.."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?

He raises a hand to his jaw, glance casting off to the side in thought. A favorite object? He only had so many things, as many of them often became unusable to some degree, eventually.. Picking one as a favorite couldn't be too hard.

"Ah, well..," his look of concentration brightens to that of a more assured smile, having finally found his answer. "I suppose this coat of mine would have to be my most treasured possession, considering it's lasted so long. That's an acceptable answer, right?"
