Makoto brought his things over and he just watched, arms crossed over his chest. This was annoying. Why did he get stuck doing a project with the dullest, most average looking boy in the entire school? He didn’t even have a real talent at all. Luck? Byakuya couldn’t even say he believed in something like that. He was born perfect because that’s how he was just meant to be, and he worked to be this way. It wasn’t luck, just good genetics. So why did getting into this school count as luck? Just stupid, much like Makoto.

The teacher came around passing out cards of what each pairs project would be on. Of course, when Byakuya opened the card it read, ‘how to practice safe sex’. What? That was easy. Wasn’t it…?

Haughtily, he started packing his things whilst saying, “I’ll do it myself and you can just sign your name on it. It’ll save me time.” Not ‘US’ time, but ‘HIM’ time, because he knew for a fact Makoto didn’t have a lot to do in his sad little life.

Boy, Makoto was not looking forward to this. Normally, his naturally optimistic side would think of this as an opportunity to maybe form some kind of positive relationship with Togami, but that wasn't going to be very easy, was it? Maybe he should just give up, but... No, giving up wasn't in Makoto's blood. Maybe he wouldn't aim to become Togami's friend--if the guy even had any, it was a real mystery--but if he could at least manage to get along with him, then maybe it'd be okay.

...Of course, what Togami said to him at the library still replayed itself in Makoto's mind.

"I could be Genocider Syo, couldn’t I? I’m so smart, and I have so much money… it would be so easy for me."

Honestly, Makoto hated that. That tormenting sense of dark humor... Because whether Togami was being honest or simply messing with his head was made very vague. Sure, Togami was capable of pulling the strings to be Genocider Syo, but at the same time, he was very much capable of bluffing. Makoto had a feeling he was a real master of deception... a dangerous person to get involved with indeed. Regardless of whether he was a serial killer or not, he was still the heir of the Togami Conglomerate, meaning that Makoto would have to be on his guard no matter what.

"...Huh?" Makoto asked, dumbfounded. Wait, Togami was going to do the project on his own? He was used to classmates in the past dumping all of the work on himself, being the pushover that Makoto tended to be at times, so he really wasn't a fan of that sort of thing at all. There was some merit in putting forth an honest effort, after all. Makoto valued that ideal. "No, it should be a result of both of our efforts... shouldn't it?"

And besides, the subject matter seemed easy... Safe sex, was it? Everyone knew about that stuff. Even though it was... kind of an awkward subject to do for a group project?

Fuyuhiko has been looking away from Naegi this whole time. For some reason, he didn’t want to see Naegi take a sip of the drink, but yet he did at the same time. Did he feel …shy? Realizing he hasn’t responded in a while, he placed the cap on the bottle and placed it between the two. He adjusted his voice to its average sternness to make sure he didn’t look like an idiot.

“Kuzuryuu. Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu.” That must’ve been the most straight forward introduction ever. But why should he care at all, not like he’d be seeing Naegi again. Before he started to regret saying that in his mind, he decided to make some conversation since that was an initial reason he asked the junior to come over.

“So um…you heard about all about that stupid Valentine’s Day dance? It’s pretty funny seeing all these morons get so hyped up about it.” It was true, he’s seen other students trying to get their dates in a hurry or just fawning over their significant other about the damn holiday, whether the latter liked it or not. He had no idea why he brought the dance up, or Valentine’s day at all, but it wasn’t like he was actually gonna help Naegi with his work.

"Kuzuryuu-kun..." Makoto repeated slowly to himself. He'd remember that... No, he would definitely remember that. "...Eh! Isn't that name involved with yakuza...?" he asked in surprise, not expecting such a small person to be involved with that kind of thing! Then again, asides from the cute face and small build, he did sort of give off that kind of impression.

Another dangerous person Makoto was getting involved with. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to care, somehow... His feelings were more important. Wait-- feelings? What was that about?

"Mm, I heard about it, but... Since I don't have a date or anything, I doubt I'll be going unless someone asks me to..." Makoto said honestly, shrugging. Really, he didn't have the courage to ask anybody out, and it wasn't as though girls noticed him in that way. Makoto was plain to his core. He was fine with it, though; he thought that someday, the right person would fall into his lap, and things would work out. Wasn't that... kind of what this was, though? "...Is it really that funny? I mean, I'd be pretty happy too if I had a Valentine... Aren't you interested in that sort of thing, Kuzuryuu-kun?" It was normal for boys to be interested in getting dates, right?

It was a long trip, after the future dark overlord had returned to the school, he felt as if it was his first time there, he pondered to himself as he was setting up his bed and letting his hamsters rest in the closet, even if it could mean potentially breaking the rules, the cruel sounding dark overlord would do anything to keep his hamsters happy.

“…Damn bear…he must be playing with my head, that bastard..” scowls to the side as he sets up his things, looking around at the blank room as he wonders where his future roommate is…Makoto Naegi, and interesting name the dark lord thought. “Makoto…the name of truth…tch, how unpleasant this will be, I am likely being set up with a white knight.” Wonders as to what this new roommate looks like…a large, well-sculpted fighter? A diplomatic intellectual? Whatever it was, Gundam knew that once it came time that the world belonged to him, he would have to crush it. And with that, the evil overlord finishes setting up his computer and desk, then goes over to the closet and lets his hamsters out, picking them up and laying them on the bed as he gives a warm and kind smile that peeked through his scarf, brushing their heads softly and petting them as he started to type away notes and blog entries on his computer.

Unfortunately(?) for his new roommate, Makoto was nothing of the sort. No diplomat, or white knight, or any kind of fighter at all! Some kind of incredible presence was probably the complete opposite of Makoto, who was unexceptional in just about every way possible. Gundam probably wouldn't be too impressed...

When Makoto arrived to his dorm room from class, he set his stuff down and took notice of... an interesting sight. Was his roommate wearing some kind of cosplay costume while... sitting on the computer? Another otaku? Then again, Makoto was no stranger to unusual people around here. He wasn't really as fazed by it as he could have been...

"Um... You're Tanaka-kun, right? I'm Makoto Naegi, your roommate..." Makoto greeted lightly, before his eyes landed on some incredibly life-like animal plushes on his roommate's bed. "...Huh? Are those toys?" he asked, confused. Cosplay props? Was he a Super High School Level Cosplayer?

“Eh? Studying?” He felt almost embarrassed to pick at such a trivial thing…almost. For some odd reason, he found this boy interesting. The option of him being a hitman seemed far off now, this guy with bullets? Seemed pretty stupid since he was more awkward than killer. With the tiniest bit of courtesy, he decided he would like to talk with him a bit.

“Why don’t you sit on this bench? Even though you look like you’d rather want to study on the dirt, I think even retards would prefer a bench.” Fuyuhiko scooted over for the boy, he suddenly felt troubled if he rejected the offer though. Normally, he would’ve felt okay and probably pissed off a little, but he’d felt like the world would be almost ending if this boy refused.

What the gently caress was this all about? Was he sick as hell? Did this moron put something in his coke? Maybe he was a threat. Either way, Kuzuryuu kept his cool and picked at his still almost full coke bottle. “And here’s a drink if you’d like. I didn’t drink that much out of it so don’t be an idiot give a damn about the germs. Feh.” Half of this was him trying to be nice, the other was to see if there really was a drug that was making him crazy.

Makoto appreciated the offer, even if the boy was rather... harsh about it. He probably just had one of those personalities that struggled with showing kindness directly. He didn't see the point in skirting around the issue, personally. Although, his tough personality was actually almost endearing. What was up with that...

In any case, Makoto accepted probably a little too easily despite the insult, taking a seat besides the other boy. There was no harm in making friends with as many people as he could, right? After all, he even attempted to befriend Touko Fukawa. And he kind of... really wanted to get to know this person better, somehow.

"... Thank you..." Makoto thanked again; he actually was a little thirty, so he took a few sips of the boy's soda. Ah-- wasn't this kind of like an indirect kiss...? He blushed briefly, before setting the drink down and wiping away at his lips with his sleeve. What was with that? If he shared a bottle with someone before, he wouldn't have normally thought something like that. "B, By the way, I'm Makoto Naegi..." he managed, trying to make himself think of something else. "Um... it'll be better if we share this, right?" He held the bottle up to the boy, noting that it was his only drink.

The weather was lighting up a bit, coming from a harsh cold to a nice moderate day. Fuyuhiko decided to soak in the weather and sat on a bench during lunch. He took in a deep breath of the nice outside air and reached for the coke he brought out. Such a boring school day. Fuyuhiko took a drink and didn’t react to the fresh bubbly fizz in his throat.

There was some buzz going around the school, some holiday about love? He didn’t care, love was something a gangster could live without. Sure he did love Peko, but in a more family like way, not the in the romantic immature way he’s seen around the school. From the corner of his good eye, he spotted a guy with what looked like a brown antenna on his head. He looked strange but for some reason couldn’t get his eye off him.

Where had he seen him before? Was he a hitman? He couldn’t tell, but for some reason he felt strange. He’d only seen him around the school, but his presence wasn’t much. His talent was hmmm…Super High School Level Boring? Anyway, he decided to speak out to the walking radio set. “You there! Who do you think you are, walking around like some buffoon.”

The atmosphere was light and pleasant around Hope's Peak Academy's court yard, no doubt due to the nice weather and the upcoming holiday. Valentine's Day was a nice occasion; Makoto had never gotten any chocolates from girls that weren't friendly in nature, but that was fine. Even friendly love was something worth celebrating, as far as he was concerned. Of course, he'd be happy to have a Valentine someday. It probably wasn't bound to happen any time soon, though... Plus, a plain person like him couldn't even reach the leagues of the Super High School Levels around here. If only he'd been blessed with some sort of special skill.

Looking for a spot to quietly eat lunch and study for his criminal justice class, he wasn't really expecting anyone to approach him. Makoto just wasn't really an approachable person, period. Mostly because he kind of just faded into the background... But no, he had managed to catch someone's attention somehow. Who was... this short boy? A harsh boy even shorter than himself...

"...Eh?" Makoto replied, dumbfounded. What was wrong with the way he was walking? More importantly, why did he find this person's baby face kind of... cute? "I... I don't think of myself as anything special. I was just looking for a place to study..."

Hajime was going to have a peaceful day after he sorted everything out, most definitely! He had managed to find a scarf to satisfy the urge to have something around his neck and, well, it wasn’t even too strange considering that the weather wasn’t very warm anyway. The weird part of his day was, well— no, he couldn’t reveal all of his secrets, could he?

Instead, as he reached up to touch the light green scarf proudly, he made his way back towards the closest building just in time to hear something overly and annoyingly loud—

“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!”

What was.. What was that, anyway? Was something going on?! Maybe it was a job for the— Huh? What was he about to mention? He didn’t know, but it wasn’t a good time to focus on that. Instead, he dropped his hands down from his overly snug scarf and headed in the opposite direction, to the place where he had heard the noise. Really, truly, he was very curious about what had caused that yell and, well, it didn’t help that it sounded somewhat familiar…

Upon arriving at the cafeteria — Why here, of all places? Had someone accidentally stabbed themselves? How foolish — Hajime immediately walked through the doors, only to stop as soon as he saw the mess on the floor. Yes, the mess, and that was including the younger boy with that word.

How had Naegi — who he recognized pretty quickly, but it didn’t make much sense as to why he was acting this way — ended up in such a position? Sure, he didn’t know enough about the fellow student to declare if he were clumsy or not, but Hajime didn’t think it was possible for anyone to be this clumsy and… well.. panicky.

The multiple apologies became overwhelming and, trying to keep himself as calm as possible, Hajime folded his hands over his chest and looked off to the side. “…To accept an apology from someone of this manner…! Hah!” This was mostly mumbled to himself, although it didn’t make much difference if Naegi heard or not — he simply didn’t care.

“Why are you still on the floor? To want to seem so low..! It’s surprising that I still stand here before you!”

..Wait, what was he saying?

Oh, he was leaving such an awful first impression, wasn't he? First with Fujisaki, and now with Hinata--whom he'd met before, but it wasn't as if they were close. But now Hinata's opinion of him was probably shattered! He even called him lowly... Yes, Makoto really was lowly and weak. And especially in front of someone with such a powerful presence like Hinata... Whom, strangely, hadn't felt like such an intimidating person before now, but that was besides the point. Maybe it was the weird scarf. Either way, he could feel the stare of judgment piercing straight through his soul.

"F-Forgive me!" Makoto pleaded, "I'll get up right away, so please don't be angry...!"

Struggling to get back on his two feet from such a... well, lewd position, he eventually did manage. But not without trouble--there was slippery syrup everywhere, and the moment he took a step forward, he slipped again.

And not only did he slip, but he slipped forward. On Hinata. Knocking them both over. He landed on Hinata's chest, and once he had adequately processed the severity of situation after a few long moments, Makoto scrambled away and off of him, looking horrified. Now Hinata was dirtied with syrup and it was all his fault...!

"Sorry... I'm so sorry!! I'm so... disgusting... and clumsy..." If Makoto was lucky, maybe he'd just die on spot... "Please, give me any kind of order to make up for troubling you so terribly, Hinata-kun...!!"

Byakuya stopped when some one short ran into him, backing up in slight horror before surveying the nervous, shaking boy. He looked at his coat, only noticing the sticky stain when Makoto had mentioned it. “Y - You pervert! You just want to rub against me, don’t you? How filthy!” His eye twitched as he stared down at him.

How could he fix it? Some one messy and dirty as him… what kind of punishment did he deserve. “You’ll clean it! Lick it off with your tongue. I bet you’d like that, huh?” He sneered, disgusted with the shorter boy. “Get to it you dirty whore.”

"Eh... Ehhhhh! N...No...! That isn't...!" Makoto tearfully trailed off, knowing that his attempts to explain himself wouldn't be heard. Why justify himself? He was trash that would always be hated by everyone around him, just a mere stress reliever for everyone else around him. He was weak... And this was a world where the weak were trampled on by the strong. And Togami was one of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the country--no, the world. It was terribly unlucky! Being Super High School Level Good Luck was such a joke. Wait, wasn't he a Super High School Level Nurse? "...Y-Yes... right away..." he mumbled pathetically, submitting to whatever Togami asked of him. After all, performing shameful acts for others was nothing new to him--whether it was impersonating a turtle laying eggs or letting people leave degrading marks on his body, it was all pretty standard for him by now. (Even if he had no particular memories of any of those things happening? Huh.)

Resting his trambling hands on Togami's shoulders--oh, he hoped it was okay to do that--Makoto leaned in and did just as he was asked, swiping his tongue along the dirtied spot of Togami's jacket, feeling dirty and ashamed. Hopefully nobody was watching! Maybe he could count himself lucky that it was sweet like syrup and not something worse? It'd happened before... hadn't it? He couldn't remember, but he was sure of it.

Why was he saying bad things about himself? It made her frown, the fact that someone could think of themselves like that wasn’t good at all. “I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you. It’s not because I didn’t see you. I just wasn’t paying attention.” “Please don’t say things like that about yourself Naegi-kun.” There was nothing less enjoyable than hearing Naegi lower his self-esteem the way he was. What could she even say to him to make him feel the slightest bit better? Nothing was even coming to mind and that made things worse for her.

She didn’t know much about him, expect for the fact that they went to school together in the past. Sayaka never heard much about him, but remembered him more so because of his looks. She thought Naegi would be happy to see her again, not get…like this. This was pushed to the back of her thoughts when he started talking again so she could concentrate on what he was saying next.

Her face lit up when she heard his approval that the two could be friends. “I’m glad that you’ll okay with that.” Even if it was something silly like this, she was glad that she was able to already have someone that she could rely on. “If it makes you happy that’s even better!” She didn’t find it strange that he even brought it up, it was just like another sentence in their conversation to her, but she did find it strange that he started stuttering the next time he opened his mouth to talk again. “That’s fine, it doesn’t matter if there’s a crowd or not.” Honestly, she liked it when there weren’t that many people around. It was always more peaceful and she could connect more to those that she wanted to.

Ah, what an exquisite breakfast. Chihiro felt like he ate his weight in food (which, to be fair, isn’t very much weight at all). After finishing his conversation -he had never met these people before, why did he talk to them? How was he even remotely okay with that?- he began to walk toward the exit.

Out of the corner of his eye he spied a clumsy looking boy with a large stack of pancakes. The chance of anything good coming out of a situation like that was pretty low. For some reason he just couldn’t stop watching the other boy. It was like a train wreck waiting to happen. A sticky pancake-filled train wreck.

-and Chihiro just couldn’t look away.

As if on cue, the boy fell to the ground with a loud cry. Everything played out as if this was some sort of movie, and pancake boy over there was the damsel in distress. For some odd reason that just made Chihiro want to help him.

Walking to his side, Chihiro wanted to extend a hand to help the boy up. Though for some reason he just could’t stop staring. The whole situation just seemed so… dirty. From his pose… to the position of the plate… to the syrup slowly crawling down his body. Oh my… he wasn’t completely sure where these thoughts came from, but Chihiro barely managed to hide an obvious grin at how absolutely inappropriate this looked.

In between the torrent of “I’m sorry!”s Chihiro smiled and managed to cut in with “Oh it’s quite alright, believe me. I assure you, you have nothing to apologize for.”

At least... there was one good thing that stemmed from all of this nonsense. It was that a very cute girl had suddenly come to talk to him--ah, someone felt sorry for him? How kind!! But, there was probably some kind of ulterior motive, wasn't there? After all, fulfilling the needs of others was probably Makoto's only use... The nursing thing was merely an excuse to meet others that were weaker than him. Wait, nursing? Since when was... never mind.

"Ah... t-thank you... but... please, for your own sake, don't look at me... in such an indecent state..." Makoto began to cry harder, cheeks burning with shame. "Huuuuu...!! I would never burden you with having to help someone... s-so... so pitiful as I am... s-sniff..." Was Makoto even going to bother to help himself up? We just don't know.

Dirty | Event

It was around lunch that something in him just snapped. Suddenly his usually cool, collected and very stuck-up demeanor was twisted into something self-loathing and lonely. He stopped in front of the kitchen and ran his hands over his face. What was he doing just eating without a care in the world? No one would ever like him if he got fat! Could anyone even imagine him fat?? There would be no one to talk to him! Oh he was so repulsive, from head to toe. And he stunk. But there was no time to shower.

Why why why why why? He was such trash he didn’t even deserve a bathroom, he deserved to be sprayed outside like a house! Like a dirty dog! As he wandered the halls, he kept is head down and muttered to himself.

After today's earlier incident, he had not yet gotten the chance to clean his clothes from the syrup. Maybe he deserved this... to be walking around with such shame, punishment for what he had done. After all, Makoto was dirt--no, lower than dirt--and thus it was only fitting that he hadn't done anything about it yet. In a daze, he wandered back to his room, glancing away from any on-lookers--(pleasedon'tlookatmepleasedon'tlookatmei'msorryi'msorry)--as he hoped to make it to his shower before something else embarrassing happened.

... Of course, he just happened to run into Togami of all people. Now there would be no chance of escaping it--the verbal degradation that was clear to come from the elitist's mouth. And especially after colliding into him like that--how embarrassing!

"I... I'm sorry...!" Makoto paused in his horror, noticing that some dried-up syrup had gotten onto Togami's finely pressed and likely expensive coat. Tears began to spill from his trembling eyes, looking afraid and desperate. "P, Please, let me clean that up for you...! I'll do anything... just don't look at me like that..."

Of course Byakuya knew his name. They were both on the paper, after all. He looked offended, his eye twitching a bit at the utter lack of respect this boy had for some one on such a higher rank than he. Who did he think he was? He was nothing compared to him… so why was he forgetting his name? Shameless.

“I don’t ‘think’ anything. If I state a fact, I know it to be true.” He smirked now, already thoroughly pissed off by Makoto not knowing his name and wanting to have a little fun with him now. “I could be Genocider Syo, couldn’t I? I’m so smart, and I have so much money… it would be so easy for me.” With that he grabbed his things and stood up, towering over Makoto. “I’d be careful if I were you.”
