The orange line!
So, here it is... I've entered the unfamiliar world of blogging to be met with the fact that someone else has taken the name 'unmadeup' which led me to wonder if perhaps, they too are fed up with looking at distinctive orange foundation lines!? Probably not, but it does lead me on to discuss the 'Natural Look' V's the 'Not So Natural Look!'
Some time ago I went for a trial at a make-up counter to see what new products were out there. As I approached the counter, I was met by an orange face with blue eye shadow and fluorescent pink lips! Yikes! I was then greeted by her two friends! A higher cut top would have been more appropriate! Whilst chewing gum in my ear she asked me if I would like a warmer tone of foundation than my natural skin colour! It clicked! That's what she was trying to achieve- a 'warmer tone!' It goes without saying that after a polite 30 minutes, I made a swift exit to the bathroom with face wipes in hand!
I was later told that the 'make-up artists' on that particular counter have to wear a minimum of 20 products to work! Insane!
So that was it, UNMADEUP was created! I trained as a make-up artist a while back and after having two beautiful girls, now was my time to put the orange line to rights!
Over time, I will be blog about my favourite products, cheap vs expensive and my top ten make-up 'tricks!' I will no doubt throw in a few rants along the way!
