Thin arms at her side moved, bailed hands brought against evident curves of one’s body. Quietly, citrine hues averted at the endless terrain of sand, being from an actual town in a desert, Chromia could understand how it would slowly get suffocating for the others.
For a moment then, peripheral vision shifted to look at the lunching jackals, back at the stew spot. ‘’Oi!, keep some for me, dudes’’, she didn’t even had her own bowl yet. But back at the subject, yellow eyes returned their attention towards Finni.
‘‘Yea, i know. The whole hot desert and endless field of sand, it ain’t for ya’ll’‘. With this admitted first, the jackal girl then choosed to settle down, giving enough space to the other though. ‘‘But ya know, its not an obligation to stay put, we can always move elsewhere’‘.
Finni wasn’t entirely too surprised that Chromia understood what he meant - he was sure the others may have complained about living in a desert for so long, too...But was it for the same reasons? He didn’t know.
“Move elsewhere..Yes, but then we’d tire there as well.”
He frowned. “Nothing in this world seems notable anymore. Have you not noticed? I long for a new age...But,” He gave a soft, half-hearted chuckle, “It’s not as though we have the power as a simple mercenary group, no?”
No, where he longed to go was a bigger picture....Perhaps destroy what was there, rise up a new experience from the ashes...But, he shook his head. That would be risky and likely end in failure. He dared not risk his companions’ lives for a goal of his own...That’s what held him back.
It’s bad. I was having a lot of trouble with layers and crashes…….oh well…….. Anyway……I was thinking about Infinte’s face and the what seems to be a scar on his right eye. I haven’t looked into it but I had a thought. Maybe the fact that he has one blue eye made him “too different” from the other jackals. And he was attacked for it? I don’t know…..it was a thought.

What's the funniest thing you can imagine happening in the sonic series?
Any character showing up late with Starbucks in their hand hasjkjhadsjhashl
Just Imagine this with Omega in that one scene at the end of Forces.
Rouge: Omega! You finally got out of that line to help out? Awesome!
Quietly, she watched the other, her concerned behavior already leaving but was replace by uncertainty. For one thing, maybe it had to do with boredom, seeing as not much did happened lately. Though, the peace wasn’t unwelcomed to Chromia, taking breaks from duties, didn’t harm anyone once in a while.
Still, there was something up, unless she was just being paranoid. ‘’Ya be pondering too much lately. You know ya can tell me whats up in your mind, Finni’’. Sure prying was not that good but in this case, it felt a bit worrisome, to see the latter mobian be that pensive.
‘‘So, wanna tell whats bothering you?’‘, and Chromia planned to keep that for herself, well if he did spoke about it.
Perhaps it wasn’t hesitation due to the fear of judgement - or an uncertainty of what the other would think...But perhaps Finni simply tried to find the words to describe it. Had he been so...ponderous lately, that it had been noted by his companions?
“...I suppose my concerns more lie in the repetitiveness of our current lifestyle. Don’t you ever tire of it?”
He wasn’t going to sugarcoat it, if given the chance to speak his mind.
“Doesn’t this desert get so...cramped? The winds are changing, or to me...They are...I find it hard to stay put.”
Once her hands were from holding onto the ceramic bowl, arms went at her side, yellow hues never leaving the other. The question didn’t really caught her offguard though, she actually expected something like that.
‘‘Yea, of course they are, i don’t think they planned to skip lunch’‘. Chromia then tilted her head, a slight shift in her posture, some concern plastered into her eyes.
He looked like a person who had been gone from reality a moment ago, in its thoughts, whatever was up, she spoke after a moment.
‘‘Whats wrong?’‘, the canine mobian just managed to ask.
A mild grin - no, smirk, faded into his expression. As expected, his troop kept themselves ready for any mission...Any problem whatsoever...Yes, they were strong, and as the boss, he found himself proud of that...
“Fine then. I’ll eat.”
He wasn’t immediate to do this, rather he gazed down at the stew in his hands, feeling the warmth...He felt hunger...Of course he did - he was mobian, and had the essential bodily needs...Well, whatever. He raised the bowl to his lips, only to pause again. Ah, that question....
“Do not worry yourself about me,” He replied, turning his head to look at her again. His eyes held a sort of...blankness - hard to tell his emotions by. “I’ve simply been contemplating some things...” His eyes trailed to the side, now glancing out over the desert. He was silent momentarily, before adding, “Ah, well. I seem to be lost with this lack of...activity. Despite our strengthening, we haven’t had time to release ourselves in a while...”
They hadn’t had a proper raid in a while....Yes, he told himself, he was simply becoming on edge....Uneasy from the built up of energy...Well, he supposed it was all a matter of planning - he was unwilling to rush into most situations without a plan, or at least some sort of organized attack...No opportunities had arose.

He paused ; just a second, long enough to take in the aroma of the stew presented to him. He said nothing to start with, peering up at the jackal companion with a raise of an eyeridge, and then looked at the bowl.
Frankly, the jackal had been so lost in his watch, sitting on a rock near his squad, that he might not have even recalled her cooking it. No, all he could remember was the cold desert floor these past few minutes...Nay, the past years. Neverchanging wasteland...That’s the place they called home.
Still, he was drawn back to the scent, and began to reach for it. His hand paused without a tremble, and he let it fall to his lap.
“Have the others eaten?”
He did not dare consume without knowing his friends - family - were settled first. If it resulted in his going without a meal, he would not mind it...Not as a one-off, anyway.

One to be Cautious of [???]
Finni …. he was well aware he was acting out of turn. Yes, he sighed now, mumbling something of a vague apology, although her aloof tone was frustrating. Was she mocking? Oh, whatever. He had no intention of starting a fight, neither verbal nor physical with this character - if anything he was merely on edge…Long day…Long week…Tiring life. He was tired.
“Regardless-” He spoke to himself and his own thoughts rather than the lady before him - “What I read…Is no stranger’s concern. Don’t you agree?” He turned to look back at the newspaper, rolling it up carefully as if to preserve it. He eyed the girl out o the corner of his eye…Feeling a decent sense of familiarity - not her, but perhaps her black fur…
“I don’t suppose we’ve met…? No, I don’t believe so..” Of course he hadn’t met her…No, he remembered faces well…Perhaps he’d heard about her somewhere? Well, that thought was going to bother him.
Possessing a demeanor which seemed emotionally detached from the world’s eyes, helped Sardonyx’s lifestyle greatly. The ex-bounty hunter could not afford to make any intimate connections and if she DID, mind must be aware that they were capable of handling themselves. However even that logical thinking didn’t fully sink in, when it came towards certain instances.
As for why attention was drawn towards his newspaper in the first place, well a particular article which concerned ‘Dark Blur’s’ escapades happened to be on there. Plus crimson optics had caught sight of the canine’s sword, so she sincerely doubted he was a reporter looking for some scoop on this mysterious vigilante. Triangles flickered at his soft apology, however initial surprise was quickly overshadowed by a weariness growing within. Regardless, she showed no signs of this emotion and responded towards his inquiries with a minor hum.
“No, we haven’t encountered one another up until this point,” she began. “And you’re right. I shouldn’t have pried, just to quell my curiosity. My apologies Mr...?”
“My name? Of no importance.”
The dark jackal’s head turned away, drawing his eyes back to the newspaper before it hit him; exhausted or not he remained no man’s fool. So that’s who this woman was? Ah...His fingers loosened and the paper began to fly away, as he was finished reading it -hadn’t any new info to know from it, now that he was faced with the real thing.
Not particularly stressed out by this - rather he found himself intrigued. He hadn’t intention of fighting her, or any such thing. No, he was far, far beyond the term ‘weary’....Though he would not defend himself should she threaten his life, it potentially would not end up that way. He wasn’t going to jump to conclusions yet.
“Restrained” + 11
@sonicforceswolf-foxkind | X | 8. 11. Trapped in a tomb or mausoleum (using the first option)
The jackal’s frustration was growing, and quickly.
the Jackal Squad had moved in to obtain an artifact within some ancient burial ground, and now, their leader was stuck in that very tomb, trapped with the artifact they’d been looking for, along with some wolf teenager who was, in his eyes, way over their head.
He hadn’t set off the alarm as far as he was aware...So that left this person he was stuck with.
“Now, look what you’ve gotten us into,” He sighed. He gripped his scimitar, but not in a threatening manner yet - just a precaution, as he didn’t know this wolf’s intentions.
“Restrained” + 8
@buddyiisms | X | 8. Hand-cuffed to one other person (or each other) <--using that second option
How...How had they ended up in such a predicament?
Finni disliked being contained. Restrained. Controlled. He wished to be of his own free will, but his wrist ached in the cuff connecting him to another Mobian - a stupid looking one with glasses, apparently.
How annoying. Well, the silence also didn’t help anything, so he spoke, and said the first thing on his mind.
“What do you propose...we do?”
;; updated finni’s about !

@unmaskedmercenary
Ears given a twitch once or twice, he stood his ground before the other. He wasn’t going to let someone just come in and stop him from his task, he had no choice but to do what his bosses tasked him to do. Hands forming into fists, a part of him already wants to punch this guy’s face right in. If the jackal didn’t call him a kid… Well, he only made his anger begin to boil then.
“Did I say I was underestimating you?” His tone held a snap to it, Razor isn’t happy.
A child’s blood on his shoes…? Just what the hell does this mobian take him for?! He’s no child, he’s an adult! And he has seen enough blood on those around him. Although he tried to avoid being the killer, there were moments where he couldn’t actually do anything to stop their deaths from happening… “Look pal, I don’t know you and honestly I could care less if I did but one thing is for sure, I ain’t some kid.”
A tempered one...Finni’s tail slowly moved behind him, swaying carefully.
“Apologies for the mistake...I simply assumed by your...demeanor.”
His voice trailed off. This guy was easily riled, was he? Taking note of the clenched fists - tightened gloves - he felt this encounter slowly losing its pleasantries.
“Regardless. It seems we’re aiming for the same thing...Is that so? Well, I’m afraid I can’t let you have it...”
Certainly not. He needed it for his squad’s survival...Well, not particularly that it was all that special - but it was rumored to be worth quite a sum. His group was weakening from lack of proper food, so as the Boss, he needed to take care of them, suck up his arrogance and buy something...And to do that, he needed to sell this item.

Bother. What a bother. He desired a simple answer from her, but had no reason to speak to her to receive said answer - what did she think she was looking at? A low growl emitted from the jackal’s chest, and he turned to her. “What do you want?”
The jackal’s snapping only goaded a mere quirk of an eye-ridge. Needless to say she was NOT impressed, with how well the individual handled his emotions. Then again, Sardonyx supposed her stares WERE obvious.
“...Nothing in particular,” she replied after a moment in aloof tones. “I was only taking note of how fixated you were on the newspaper. Must be a subject of real interest...”
