1) Together in a Broken World by Paul Michael Winters
[⭐️⭐️]
Fun plot, but left little to be desired. Lackluster writing, but a beautiful cover
2) The Fever King by Victoria Lee
[⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️]
Thrilling, engaging, kept me begging for more. Read in one day. Would give more than five stars if I could. First book to have me in a choke hold since reading aftg
3) The Electric Heir by Victoria Lee
[⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️]
I loved this book, even when it was hard to stomach at times because it was too /real/, the way this book deals with trauma and healing is something I don’t often see. Highly recommend
February
4) A Series of Rooms by A.J. Barlowe
[⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️]
Alright this one hurt. It’s not a story of being swallowed by the whale, but the story of getting out of it. It’s real and raw and filled me with dread for what was bound to come, but it is a story of healing overall. Check TWs
March
5) Summer Sons by Lee Mandelo
2/5 ⭐️ if I’m being generous
I wanted to like this so bad but hated 80% of it. Incredibly slow paced and the need to put as many SAT words in each sentence was tiring. Last five chapters where the best in the whole book. Only really cared about Sam, Andrew frustrated me more than anything. I loved the plot and there were some things I did enjoy about it, but over all I was unimpressed and it took me almost a whole month to read because the pacing was tough for me to stay interested
6) The Sunshine Court by Nora Sakavic
5/5 ⭐️ (would give all the stars in the universe actually)
I am UNWELL. Nora has done it again. I fear how much I relate to Jean. The sheer rawness of his situation and his inability to let himself be helped cuts deep. He deserves the world and I hope he gets it in the next books. I love Nora’s writing and it’s been amazing having a new story from her about a character I love so dearly.
7) The Golden Raven by Nora Sakavic
5/5 ⭐️
If i thought TSC hurt I don't even know how to describe this book. I am in love with this series and getting to know Jeremys story more too in this book. Can't wait for the third
8) Banana Fish by Akimi Yoshida
5/5 ⭐️
3/19 volumes reread, all will be 5 star because im as obsessed with BF as I am AFTG but I dont want to flood this thread with 19 posts of the same series
April
9) The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer
5/5 ⭐️
I put this book off for years and I shouldnt have. Though the twists were expected, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how exactly they would happen and how Kodiak and Ambrose would survive the barren wasteland of space
10) The Brightness Between Us by Eliot Schrefer
4/5 ⭐️
I loved all of the Kodiak centric chapters, something I was longing for in the first book. I wish we saw more from Yarrows perspective and wish more was touched on with saving him and surviving the comet but it was still enjoyable.
11) The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
5/5 ⭐️
Re-read of a childhood favorite of mine. Dallas Winston is gay and losing Johnny was his 13th reason. The gang deserves the world
12) Rust and Stardust by Atreus Rosewood
3/5 ⭐️
purely self-indulgent cowboy smut. The plot was silly and I couldn't take it seriously, but it was a fun lighthearted read compared to everything else I've been reading recently
13) Garron Park by Nordika Night
3/5 ⭐️
This one was hard to rate. I wish it focused more on sports and the angst potential, and I did not go into this book expecting the amount of smut it had so I was a little annoyed. That being said I did enjoy it despite a few aspects
14) At the End of the River Styx by Michelle Kulwick
5/5 ⭐️
I need to stare at a wall for 6 days
15) The Traitors Crown by Victoria Lee
3/5 ⭐️
It was nice seeing more of the feverwake universe but the writing wasn't hitting the same for me, it felt a little stale for half of it and I still hate Lehrer but I'd be lying if i said I didn't feel a little bad for him at first
