The ‘person’ that you have mistaken yourself to be is but a useful fiction that cleverly covers the vastness of your infinite nature. At the deepest level of reality - we are the indivisible field of presence behind our everyday experiences. There is no personal gain in awakening, for there is no ‘person’ to claim it. The body-mind (separate self) has to be let go of and what will remain is undisturbed stillness. Every moment provides the perfect opportunity to remember what you are. One must fall completely into this space of present moment awareness and grace will permeate every aspect of your life.

An early frosty morning in the Tetons

I left a part of me here, the innocence to our becoming. I left an American born baby in the dew crusted frost of Idaho’s mountains. I drove through the winds of Montanas backroads to find my way. In the bone chilling cold of native plains I recognized we were all foreigners here. I left my old ways in the early morning chill, I knew the beauty of it all was too great to be true, our children and there children have to fight battles my grandparents fought for me. Is the American I was born into that day the problem? Or is this system, country, and maybe most importantly, our morality being manipulated against our true purpose?

I just want to sit in a dried out swimming pool at midnight and talk to someone about god who isn’t my shadow. And I’m not trying to save him. I’m trying to show him he can save himself. And the sky was spinning like we were under the stars.

Some may say, including you, that I’m infatuated with you. Those perceptions, more of which are judgements… They’re wrong. Really and truly, if I said it once I’ll mean it for life, you’re loved. By myself and I’m sure by others, you are as timely as the ocean, peaceful and calm on the surface, but a vastness of danger and diversity beneath.

There’s something about you that draws me towards you. I couldn’t describe it if I had years of paper, four walls, and unlimited writing utensils. There are things in our world that don’t need explaining and you are one of them. You are my favorite song on this playlist. You are my favorite tree in the forest. The most beautiful view on this side of the mountain. You may be confused, lord knows I am. I don’t know how you do it, I don’t know how this works, but I know one thing. I love you.
