🎥Disney Pixar ‘UP’ Directed By ‘Pete Docter’ begins with a young boy named Carl watching a film about Charles F. Muntz his inspiration on the big screen, he's fascinated by the guy he's watching on the big screen, the boy then meets a girl, who is also a Muntz Fan and then they fall in love with each other get married, live happily together, but one day Carl’s Wife Ellie Dies, due to old age problems of course, and Carl is left alone. But there's one regret which Carl has, and that is not taking her wife to paradise hills. It was Carl and Ellie’s Childhood dream, to visit Paradise hills, where nobody had ever been. Then one day a boy knocks at his door, and so the adventure begins. 1️⃣The Movie is one of the best Animated Film I've seen so far. The Animation of this film is good. The Soundtrack is good. The film makes you emotional. 2️⃣There are many scenes in the film that I liked, but there's one scene that got me emotional, a scene which I think was the breaking point in the Film, after all that he's been through, Carl Finds his wife's diary, her Childhood diary, and Carl thought that only a few pages were filled, the remaining pages were blank. Ellie's Dream was to fill the remaining pages with all the Adventures from Paradise Hills, but unfortunately she died before Carl embarked on this journey to Paradise hills. Cut to, Carl Flipped through the pages of her diary and the blank pages were now filled with Carl and Ellie's Pictures, their journey through thick and thin, their journey over the years, and so Carl understood that paradise hills was not his wife's first priority anymore, it was her husband Carl, the Wonderful moments which they shared is what filled the remaining pages of Ellie's Diary. That scene for me was the best scene in the Film. 3️⃣The Film is a Mixture of Different Emotions. There are many things that are highlighted in the film. Father son relationship, the relationship between a husband and wife are some of the things highlighted. That's it for now✌🏻. ‘JOKER’ Directed by Todd Phillips is about ‘Joker’ AKA ‘Arthur’. This movie has nothing to do with ‘The Dark Night’. This movie is neither a ‘Sequel’ a ‘Prequel’. I am at a loss for words right now. ‘Joaquin Phoenix’ gets into the skin of the character that he's playing. I've watched both ‘The Dark Knight’ and To be honest I don't feel like comparing Heath and Joaquin's portrayal of ‘Joker’. I'm not going to write the story. Right from the beginning you know what's going to happen. This movie tackles with Mental Illness. The movie is set in the 70’s and late 80’s. You empathize with Arthur. There are so many great actors in the movie, Robert De Niro for that matter. Each frame in the movie makes you fall in love with Arthur. You also have young Bruce Wayne in the movie. Getting into the skin of a character like that (Joker) is not an easy thing to do. But Joaquin Phoenix makes it look so beautiful on screen. Can't wait to see it again, not on the big screen this time, phew!!!!!!. You invest in these characters right from the first scene. I'm not going to rate this film on the scale of 1-5. ‘Bose:- The Forgotten Hero’ Directed by ‘Shyam Benegal’ released in ‘2005’. The movie is ‘5 hour's’ and ‘5 minutes long’. But The theatrical version was only 3 hours long I guess, because I remember watching it on television in 2017 and it was only 3 hours long. The Film is about ‘Subhash Chandra Bose's’ life. The Film begins with Bose's resignation as the president of the ‘Indian National Congress’ and ends with his untimely death at the age of 48 in 1946 in ‘Taiwan’. The first half is about his life in India, the first half is set in India, whereas the second half takes place in Rangoon, Japan and Germany. The second half is also about the Indian National Army, which was formed by Bose himself. ‘Sachin Khedekar’ plays ‘Bose’ in the movie. Only Khedekar could've played Bose in the movie. The movie had an ensemble cast. Rajeshwari Sachdev Plays Capt. Laxmi Sehegal in the movie, whereas Sonu sood plays Lt. Col. Shah Nawaz Khan. Divya Dutta plays Ila Bose in the movie and Pankaj Berry plays Abaid Khan. The movie got mixed reviews from the Critics. The soundtrack by A.R. Rehaman is mesmerizing. My favorite songs from the movie are ‘Azadi’ and ‘Kadam Kadam’. Now Rehaman recreated Kadam Kadam for the Film. The lyrics were penned by Javed Akthar. You know it's going to be amazing when Javed Akthar has penned the lyrics of the song in your movie. The movie won the national award for best ‘Art Direction’. ‘Quantico’ Starring ‘Priyanka Chopra’ was the first mainstream American show which had an Indian Female Actor as the protagonist. It was produced/distributed by ‘ABC Network’. It ran for 3.5 years. The show had 3 seasons. Season 3 was the worst, season 2 was okay and it was season 1 that made people in America fall in love with Priyanka Chopra. I remember watching this show in 2017, and I used to watch this show religiously only for Priyanka Chopra. Season 1 was about the lives of the FBI agents, it was also about the life of ‘Alex Parish’, her relationship with Ryan Booth,etc.it was also about her past, which had something to do with her present. Her life took a 360 degree turn when she became an FBI agent and not just that, she is also framed as a terrorist and she needs to make sure that she gets that thing off her shoulder. Season 2 takes place 2 year's later I guess, we now have the CIA on the show. Season 2 was about Alex Parrish going undercover as a CIA recruit. Season 3 however was the worst season. Phew!!!!!!. It was all over the place. Seasons 1 and 2 of Quantico were liked by the Critics as well the audience, whereas season 3 was disliked by the Critics as well as the audience. Quantico had an ensemble cast, the actors on the show were incredible. I felt bad when the show ended last year, it wasn't terrible, but I missed the show so much. I wish the climax of season 3 had been written and shot differently. But season 3 ended on a good note. ‘Quantico’ is also available on ‘Netflix’. Quantico changed leading lady @priyankachopra ’s career. The show catapulted her to overnight stardom. ‘English Vinglish’ is the only Sridevi movie that saw on the big screen. English Vinglish is another film that I can watch again and again. It was Sridevi's comeback Film. I miss her a lot 😢. ’English Vinglish’ was Director ‘Gauri Shinde's’ Debut movie. The movie is about Shashi, who lives with her family in Bombay. Shashi is a doting mother, she is the perfect Daughter in Law a mother could ever ask for, and she's a loyal wife. Shashi’s an entrepreneur as well, who makes ‘laddos’. But Shashi cannot speak English, she's mocked by her daughter because of that, she has no respect for her at all, and it hurts Shashi’s feelings. Life has something else in store for her. She's supposed to go to America for her niece's wedding and that changes her life forever. She learns how to speak English in order to earn her children's and her husband's respect. Sridevi as Shashi was mesmerizing. Even after a 13 year hiatus, she impressed everyone with her performance. Adil Hussain as Shashi’s husband is amazing, you know what Adil Hussain is capable of, he's such a brilliant actor. Even the girl who played her daughter in the movie, Sulbha Deshpande had very little to do in the Film. It's an ensemble Film. The soundtrack by Amit Trivedi, OMG!!!!! Every time I listen to the soundtrack of English Vinglish I end up crying. #myfavouritecharacters I wish my mother was as melodramatic as ‘Kirron Kher's’ character was in ‘Om Shanti Om’. Kirron Kher's character in Om Shanti Om was my favorite. She was the quintessential Indian mother of the 70’s who was melodramatic, would say lines from the 70’s Bollywood movie. Bela Makhija was a Junior artist of the 50’s because there's a reference of Mughal-e- Azam in one of the scenes, also Bela's dialogues in the movie were written by Farah Khan herself. She's caring and melodramatic at the same time. She had two different looks in the movie. In the First half she is supposed to look like a women in her 40’s whereas In the second half she is supposed to look like a 70 year old women because there's a 30 year leap in the movie. I still remember watching her on screen for the first time and being in awe of her. Kirron Kher is amazing as Bela Makhija. I wish Farah had made a movie on Bela Makhija instead of making ‘Tees maar Khan’. Kirron Kher managed to look like a middle class women. She wears colourful clothes in the first half, whereas in ten second half she only wears black coloured clothes. Directed by Shyam Benegal in 1994 ‘Mammo’, is a Film, that was based on a true story. Written by Khalid Mohammad ‘Mammo’ was about his grandaunt Mehemooda Begum aka ‘Mammo’. Mammo is has two different timelines, the 80’s or the 70’s and the 90’s. The film changed my way of looking at the partition of India, I saw Mammo on television when I was 13 and I had chickenpox at the same time, I remember watching it for the first time and thinking to myself that how difficult it would've been had something like that happened in real life, I've watched this film not once but thrice. You can say that I grew up watching this film. After watching this movie I realized how talented Surekha Sikhri is. She played the role of Mammo's older sister Faiyuzzi, she's quiet, and she's an introvert, she's shy and timid at the same time, she's been through a lot also at the same time and that's why she prefers to keep her mouth shut and not get into trouble with anybody, Mammo on the contrary is an extrovert, fierce, conservative, etc. Even Mammo's been through a lot but instead of thinking about her past she thinks about her present, both Mammo and Faiyyazi are biological sisters, but they're quiet different from each other. Amit phalke plays young riyaaz(@khalidmohamed9487 ), riyaaz lives with his Maternal Grandmother, Faiyyazi, his mother died after which his father chose not to look after him, things were going great for riyaaz when Mammo came into the house. Now i will not write about Mammo's back story. The Screenplay written by Khalid Mohammad was great, also I'm a little biased towards Shyam Benegal movies, this was also the first time that I was watching a Shyam Benegal movie, this is the only Shyam Benegal movie that I've watched in one go, the rest of his movies, I've not watched them In one go, there's only one location In the movie, of course you have other locations also, but 95% of the movie was shot in a house. Each frame was beautiful, there's one song in the movie that was sung by jagjit Singh and that song is my all time favorite jagjit Singh song. 2. ‘Bob Biswas’ is the only character in the history of Indian Cinema who sents chill down my spine everytime I watch Kahaani on Television. My friend @neeldhamanaskar resembles ‘Bob Biswas’(Pun intended). I don't remember the name of the actor who played ‘Bob’. Bob Biswas is a cold hearted contract killer, at night and a hard-working employee working at a private firm. He works at an insurance agency. Bob Biswas looks innocent but is actually not innocent at all. The way he kills people, OMG!!!!! He kills them with such ease. He carries a pistol with and pistols the only weapon he carries with him. Unfortunately ☹️ he died while protecting himself from the police, who were running behind him. He met with an accident which took his Life. Sujoy Ghosh if you're reading this, then please make a film on Bob Biswas, we need a spin off for this character. I can never erase this character from my mind. The actor played him with such ease and conviction, he breathed life into that character. All his scenes in the movie are my favorite,but this scene in particular is my all time favorite, he literally tries to kill Vidya Balan, that's what we initially think, but that's not what happens, he threatens her, that's all he does. He pretends to act like he's innocent. There's a scene in the film where he's working at his office while he gets a message from someone saying that you've to kill someone. Okay, so instead of writing movie reviews I've decided to write something else and that is ‘my favorite characters in Bollywood movies’. So today I'm going to write about ‘Gauri’ from ‘Lagaan’. Bollywood movies have given us some of the best characters ever. Characters who're still remembered even after so many years and ‘Gauri’ from ‘Lagaan’ is one such character that people still remember. Lagaan was ‘Gracy Singh's’ debut Film. I don't remember how she bagged the Film. Ashutosh Gowariker had considered some A-list Bollywood actresses, before casting gracy as gauri. Rani Mukherjee, Nandita das,etc.. were some of the actors approached for the movie,but they all refused it. Let's talk about the character now. Gauri's innocence is something that we're all aware of. She is the only girl in the village who believes ‘Guran’. Gauri has a crush on ‘Bhuvan’. Gauri's madly in love with him, and though bhuvan aware about this, decides not to tell his feelings to her, instead he waits for her to express her feelings first. Gauri's costumes were designed by Oscar winning Costume Designer ‘Bhanu Atthaiya’. She wears plains sarees which are bright in colour. The colours given to her were orange, yellow or red. She's full of life and that is why she was given bright coloured sarees to wear. Now Gauri hates Elizabeth as she thinks that Elizabeth will take bhuvan away from her,and she's true because Elizabeth has romantic feelings for Bhuvan as well. She tries her level best to keep him away from her as much as can. Gauri speaks avadhi. Gauri is the daughter of the Vaid. Gauri's character is relevant even today, because there are so many things about Gauri which I see today as well. Gauri's wish get's fulfilled as she gets to marry Bhuvan. ‘Udaan’ was director Vikramaditya Motwane's directorial debut. ‘Udaan’ released in 2010 is about Rohan, his relationship with his father and how he had to come to terms with the fact that he now has a step brother to look after. Udaan is the only movie that I've ‘READ’ and not ’WATCHED’. The screenplay was so good that I did not feel like watching the movie. I read the Screenplay in 2018. I knew who the protagonists were so I did not have to imagine everything. The script is beautifully written by ‘Anurag Kashyap’ and ‘Vikramaditya Motwane’. I won't be able to write the entire story of the Film, because it's too long and I've already written another review😅. I cannot tell you how difficult it was for me to read some of the scenes that were written on the Screenplay. Ronit Roy's Character is so violent. I think I'd never seen a character like that in the history of Indian Cinema. But it was so beautifully written that I couldn't stop reading it. The movie is available on ‘Netflix’. I cannot talk about the performances because I haven't seen the Film. I think I will. Udaan was made on a shoestring budget of rupees 5 crore. The movie released in 2010. It earned 2 crores at the box office which means that Udaan was a box office disaster,but the Critics loved it and so did I. And now when I look back I wish that had it released 8 years later i.e in 2018, Udaan would've been a box office success. It Changed so many people lives, it influenced them. Each character in the movie contributed something or the other in the screenplay. I love the soundtrack of this movie. Each character in the movie leaves you wanting more. It was rohans character who suffered the most along with his step brother, but instead of giving up, he rebelled and challenged his abusive father. “Picture abhi baaki Hain mere dost” #notamoviereview ‘Om Shanti Om’ is the only Farah Khan movie that I like. I remember watching this movie on television for the first time when I was four years old, and since then I've been in love with this film. The story's simple. The First half is set in the 70's and the second half is set in the year 2007. ‘Om’ a junior artist falls in love with an established female actor ‘Shantipriya’. Om is madly in love with her. But what he doesn't know is that Shanti's already married to Mukesh and she's pregnant with Mukesh's child. Mukesh on the contrary wants Shanti to have an abortion. But Shanti refuses to have one. So Mukesh takes Shanti to his film's set and then kills her. Om, still in love with Shanti tries to get her out of that studio, but he gets injured while protecting her and then he meets with an accident which kills him. That car belonged to the Bollywood superstar of the 70's. Many years later Om is reborn into the Superstars family as his son. Now Farah Khan's obsession with Bollywood can be seen in the movie. This was Deepika Padukone's debut Bollywood movie. My favorite character in the entire movie was Om's mother ‘Bela Makhija’ played by ‘Kirron Kher’. Turns out Bela was also a junior artist in the 50's. She's eccentric, She's sentimental but at the same time is a caring mother. Her wicked sense of humor be it or anything, she made me laugh every time she appeared on the screen. Each frame in the movie has some or the other reference to an old Bollywood movie. Arjun's Character scared the daylights out of me, when I was 4 years old, Arjun will always be remembered for this Character. It took two- three weeks for Farah to write the Screenplay of om Shanti om. Shreyas is good. There's another character that I like, the one that was played by Bindu, also Yuvika Chaudhary was amazing in the movie. Also, each scene in the movie was hilarious. The soundtrack by Vishal-Shekhar was mesmerizing, each song touched my heart. Enough praise for the day. #appreaciationpost This is not a movie review, this is me writing about my all time favorite Vidya Balan Film, so I will not write the story, but instead I will talk about the other aspects of the movie. I grew up watching ‘Kahaani’. Now Kahaani as we all know is a psychological thriller. Now watching a comedy film is okay, you can watch again and again, but that's not what Happens with a psychological thriller, some movies you can only watch them once, whereas some movies can be rewatched over and over again. The same goes for me with ‘Kahaani’. This Film is very special to me,it holds a special place in my heart and it always will. The movie gave us an iconic character, a character which we can never erase from our minds and that character is ‘Bob Biswas’ now I don't know but even after watching for more than 6 times now, every time this character comes on screen, it sends a chill down my spine. I don't know the actor who played that character, but that guy made him look so convincing that it takes time for me to realize that he's a fictional character. My favorite Bob scene is the one where he threatens Vidya by literally pushing her on the railway track. Vidya's character was also good, there's a twist in the climax when you realize that all this time Vidya was pretending to be a pregnant. She made it look so natural and effortless. I love watching Sujoy Ghosh's film's because almost every film that he's made has been shot in Kolkata. I think I love watching Kolkata through his Len's. I don't know who the cinematographer of the movie is but hatt's off to you yaar, he made it look so beautiful, each frame was a visual treat. Even though I've never been to Kolkata, I love watching it because of Sujoy Ghosh. His obsession with the city can be seen in the movies that he's made over the years. There's another scene in the movie that I like where vidya's character has a nervous breakdown, that scene, was so beautiful, Vidya Nailed that scene. Even the background score of the film is mesmerizing. Amitabh Bachchan lend his voice to a song In the Film. ‘Part 2’ Of ‘Manichitratazhu’. I saw Manichitratazhu when I was 9 years old. I came across this film while I was watching ‘Chandramukhi’ on ‘Zee Cinema’. While I was researching on Chandramukhi I came across this movie and that's when I realized that all these film's were inspired by Manichitratazhu. There's a song in the movie Oru Murai Vanthu that I grew up listening to. I used to dance like Nagavalli, and for years I did that. The Film is about Nakulan and His Wife Ganga(@shobana_danseuse ), who belong to the royal family. The belong to Kerala, Kerala's their native place, now Nakulan and Ganga go to their native place, because Nakulan who's an engineer by profession has some work there, so Both Nakulan and Ganga pay a surprise visit to their uncle's house, but instead of staying at his uncle's place Nakulan decides to stay at their ancestral Palace. Their relatives get scared because the palace is haunted. So the story goes like this The head of Nakulan's family whose name was Shankaran Thampi was madly in love with his mistress/dancer whom he brought from Tamil Nadu, her name was Nagavalli. What Shankaran Thampi Didn't know was that Nagavalli was in love with Ramanath, who secretly lived in the house which was right next to the Palace. When Thampi got to know about this, he killed Nagavalli. However on the day of ‘Durgashtami’ Nagavalli turned into a bloodthirsty witch and tried to kill Thampi, but he saved himself by chanting some mantra's. That was the story. Let's talk about the performances now. Shobana looks so natural in the movie, there's hardly any make-up on her face, she made it look so convincing that it became difficult for you to realize that she's not possessed by Nagavalli's Spirit. The background score is haunting,it is. It sent a chill down my spine when I heard it for the first time. I was so scared while watching it. The songs are good, everything about this movie is perfect and that is why,even after 25 years of it's release, people still get scared while watching it. Enough praise for the day 😀. ‘Manichitratazhu’ is a movie that I grew up watching. The movie released in the year 1993 and was a box office success, even the critics liked it. It's been more than 25 years now, since it's release at the box office,but people still get goosebumps Everytime they watch Ganga(Shobana) open the oronate lock. The film made in 4 different languages (Kannada, Tamil, Bengali and Hindi). The Kannada Version was Called ‘Apthamitra’ and it released in 2004. It wasn't a remake of ‘Manichitratazhu’ . The main plot of ‘Apthamitra’ was taken from ‘Manichitratazhu’, but it wasn't a remake of the original movie. The Kannada Version also became successful at the box office like it's predecessor. This was followed by ‘Chandramuki’ which was made in Tamil, now ‘Chandramukhi’ was the official remake of ‘Apthamitra’ and Chandramukhi was Blockbuster because of ‘Rajnikanth’. It released in 2005. Had Rajnikanth Not been a part of ‘Chandramukhi’, I don't think it would've the achieved the kind of Success it did at the Box office. Then the Bengali Version of the film came out, in 2006. I've not watched the Bengali Version,but it wasn't a box office Success, it wasn't as successful as it's predecessors were. This was followed by the release of ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ in 2007. ‘Lagaan’ Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker is my all time favorite Bollywood movie. It was an experimental film during it's time. But nobody knew that this movie will go on to become a Blockbuster and that even after 19 years of it's release, people still watch it with the same excitement and enthusiasm, which they had while watching it for the first time. It's 3 hours and 43 minutes long. Lagaan never gets old. I don't remember watching it when I was young, I mean I'm still young, but I don't remember watching it as a kid, I saw it when I was 13 year's old, and I did not like it when I saw it for the first time, but I knew that this movie was a classic. It was 2 years later maybe when I saw it again that I realized how amazing it actually was. So then one day I came across this documentary which was nothing but the ‘Making Of Lagaan’ and watching it made me realize how difficult it for the entire cast and crew of the film. The entire film was shot in ‘Bhuj’ and bhuj at that time wasn't a popular tourist destination either, because of it's climate, and there were no hotels there, I mean there were hotels, but small one's, so Amir Khan (Producer) purchased an entire residential building and converted it to a hotel, for the entire cast and crew to stay there for six months. The movie was written by Ashutosh Gowariker himself, initially when he approached Amir he did not like it and so Ashutosh approached other actor's for the film, they liked it, but were not willing to do it as it was an experimental Film, so for six months Ashutosh worked on the script and six months later approached Amir and this time he liked it and agreed to be a part of it, and the rest is history. This was also the first Bollywood movie where instead of ‘Dubbing’ they used ‘Sinc Sound’ , because it wasn't time consuming and also because they had to shoot the film in 6 months otherwise the budget would've increased. The story is great, I'm reading Lagaan at the same time, I've read a few pages of the script and it is one of the best scripts that I've read, there were few things in the script which are not there in the movie. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, ‘Anukul’ is based on the short story written by The legendary Filmmaker ‘Satyajit Ray’ of the same title. The story goes like this:- set in modern day Kolkata, ‘Anukul’ is about the relationship between a Human and Robot. Nikhil(Saurabh Shukla) A Hindi professor brings A robot (Anukul) To his house, Nikhil's cousin brother however,lost his job because of robots, and that is why he hates them, so when Nikhil's brother comes to know about Anukul he tries to kill him as well, he was able to hurt him in his first attempt however, well let's not talk about that. Watch the movie for yourself. Let's talk the other aspects of the movie now. The story, was written in the 60's I guess, it was a short story that was written by Ray. I love watching Sujoy Ghosh's movies. According to me His movies are incomplete without Kolkata, I love watching it(Kolkata) on Celluloid through his Len's. I've seen so many of his film's and Some of his best film's were shot in Kolkata. The story's great, they've used VFX only in two scenes. The actor who plays Anukul is my favorite, I first saw him in the 2011 film ‘Kahani’. Saurabh Shukla as Nikhil is amazing. He is one of my favorite actors, I can watch his movies any day, also the actor who plays Nikhil's brother is great and one of the my favorite actor, whose name I don't remember unfortunately!, The relationship/chemistry between Anukul and Nikhil was that of a father-son relationship. There's only one location in the movie 98%of the scenes have been shot in a house,where Nikhil lives. This could be the only science fiction movie in India that I've liked, we need more science fiction movies like these in Bollywood. He falls in love with Shirin(@farahkhankunder) who is also 45 and single. It's a different story, something which we'd never seen on the big screen before. It is my guilty pleasure film. I can watch it everyday without getting bored. I remember watching it for the first time on television, it was 1.00 a.m. in the morning and I was watching this movie, and I just couldn't stop laughing. The entire cast is Parsi, some of the best Parsi actors in Bollywood are in the film, be it ‘Shammi’ or ‘Daisy Irani’ or Boman Irani for that matter. I don't know but the thing is that I love Parsi's for some reason. Farah Khan was the main reason why I decided to watch this movie in the first place. I'm obsessed with her movies, I don't like Happy New year or Tees maar Khan, but I love ‘Om Shanti Om’. I grew up watching that movie, I've so many memories (childhood one's) attached to it. I've been watching a lot of Farah Khan interviews these days. I can listen to her 24/7. I watch her interviews everyday, she makes me laugh every time I watch an interview of hers. I love her sense of humor, infact she is one of the few people who I can listen to everyday at the same time I can watch her speak again and again. I wish I was a part of Shirin Farhad ki toh Nikal padi. It's not a mainstream Bollywood movie, it's a small budget movie that makes you laugh and entertains you right from the beginning and that's why I keep watching it again and again.
