( BOB MORLEY. male. he/him. ) reports confirm that ANDREW BLAIR (ALIAS: EOIN SINCLAIR) has recently been spotted in glasgow. the TWENTY-SEVEN year old is believed to be a PROFESSIONAL SPY, although it’s unclear how permanent that position may be. our files indicate the HALF-BLOOD to be loyal & intuitive, but also unyielding & self-sacrificing. only time will tell what side they’re really on.
iii. the history
Adie wasn’t born into this life. To tell the truth, he wasn’t born into much of anything. Abandoned on the steps of a wizard creche, the ministry deemed him a half-blood and sent him to the orphanage on Fair Isle in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Renamed Andrew for the saint, Blair for the orphanage, he began going by Adie when he was only a week old. The settlement on Fair Isle mostly consisted of wizards, which allowed the orphaned wixen to experience a childhood free from possibly outing the wizarding world to muggles, like it would in a larger city.
When Adie left for Hogwarts with his brothers and sisters, he was entranced by the vast array of people who studied there and how much bigger the world was outside of Fair Isle. When he came of age, he realized that the main view of those who didn’t have parents to help them, was to either get a job at Hogwarts, or to go into work at the ministry. He had no muggle skills beyond herding sheep and sailing, and Adie decided he wanted to see the world.
So he took a office job, and he decided that this was perfect. He brought coffee, wrote files, and withstood the hot temper of the Scottish outpost’s head officer. Then, in a stroke of luck, he was transferred to the London office and had the opportunity to apply for more espionage-related training. When the war was just beginning to brew, he was sent up north to Glasgow to go into deep cover.
But Adie had a girl waiting for him back home; the beautiful daughter of the local store owner, Mette. They told each other that they’d reunite after they went their separate ways after Hogwarts, but it hasn’t happened. Every night he was in Edinburgh he dreamt of her, and every night he was in London, too.
Originally, Adie and a fellow agent were posing as uncle and nephew at a greengrocer’s and butcher’s. He took the name Eoin Sinclair and ingratiated himself with those in the neighbourhood, both muggle and wixen. His charming disposition and deep brogue from the Hebrides helped him to earn the trust of those they delivered to, often being invited into their homes.
He goes with the flow, rather than rebelling, but the withdrawal from the main ministry shook him slightly. He’s more loyal to Scotland than he is to anyone in the main ministry offices. The ministry asked him to report intel on the new SMP back to them, but he’s been feeding them half-truths for the past few months and isn’t planning on returning to his old job, especially since it’s been five years.
So he waits, and he decides that this is perfect. He keeps his mind far from his home and Mette. And he waits.
