People forget that politics is supposed to be about disagreements over policy and priorities—how taxes are used, how strict laws should be, or how much responsibility the government has in areas like healthcare or education. Those are real debates about how a society should function.

Hatred isn’t the same thing. Misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, and similar forms of bigotry aren’t “political opinions.” They aren’t policy arguments. They’re expressions of prejudice that target people for who they are and strip them of safety, dignity, and equal treatment.

Political beliefs can be discussed, challenged, and compromised on. Bigotry can’t—because it isn’t about ideas, it’s about denying someone’s humanity. Calling discrimination a political stance doesn’t make it valid; it just downplays the harm and gives cover to abuse.

Arguing over taxes is politics. Dehumanizing people based on race, gender, sexuality, or identity is not—it’s hatred, plain and simple.
