I want someone to love the sadness out of me.

I read all the books about two imperfect people perfectly matched with each other, finding beauty in the brokenness of each other but when joined together creates a sum greater than its parts. I devoured the stories about the kind of love most of us dream about, the kind that makes you believe that there really is someone out there uniquely meant for you and you alone. I consumed all this with the firm belief in something divine, in destiny, in the blind, solid faith that in this world there is a love so strong for all of us that we tremble helplessly in awe of it.

But what they cruelly left out in those stories is, just because someone is your soulmate, doesn’t mean that you are theirs.
