“I found with you a life force I’d thought I lost,”
— Albert Camus, from a letter to María Casares written c. August 1951
““Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you’re in love or you’re partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. I don’t know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely makes me believe in something.”

1.
Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes.
Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more.
You’re doing just fine.

My life is a struggle between my need for acceptance, my fear of rejection, and a desire to not care at all.

There is literally nothing in nature that blooms all year long, so do not expect yourself to do so.
Tired of feeling like a burden. To others, to myself. Like a wick inside a candle that just won't catch fire, desperately useless.
My desires in a relationship have changed over time. I no longer want someone who promises to always love me and never leave me, I need someone who understands that life happens and sometimes things don’t work out. I don’t want someone who sugar coats things and never gets angry with me, I need someone to tell me how it really is and put me in my place. I need to be able to go five hours without talking to you and not feel lost or incomplete. I am complete without you. But with you, I want to be so much better. I want to be stronger with you. I want us to grow together and help each other grow individually. I don’t need you, but I really fucking want you. And this may not work out, but the fact that you understand all of this and this how our relationship works, makes me think we’ve got a pretty good shot.

A brief reaction to Call Me By Your Name
I felt like I was 16 again, running alongside the characters, spending dawn and dusk in hidden corners of a small town, sneaking forbidden moments with my love. These boys had secrets and so did I. They were chasing after a happiness thay they always knew would elude them, but they were completely overwhelmed by the passion, the excitement, the unbridled self. It's intoxicating, mesmerizing, terrifying. It's power. It's fear. Love can be a constant manipulation or life's greatest support.. and in the case of many young loves, it is both. It is jealousy and pride, ownership and lust.
I was transported to the days of my wildest youth, to the nights surrounded by fireflies in fields - my skirt or shorts tossed aside in some distant pile. I'm not scared of the reality anymore, I'm not pretending anymore.
Lately, his evil has been weaving it's way back into my life and its sheer terror. A blanketed and universal fear, that you never quite outlived your abuse..
You can start over today. Right in this minute. It doesn’t have to be a Monday or a new year to recreate yourself.

People will love you. People will hate you. And none of it will have anything to do with you.
Abraham Hicks (via wordsnquotes)
Find someone who loves you well. Someone who never belittles you. Even in the heat of an argument. Someone who is gentle with you, but does not treat you like you are fragile. Someone who knows what you are capable of, and celebrates those pieces of you. Not someone who is intimidated by your strength. Someone who doesn’t make you feel guilty for being flawed. It is not love’s job to punish you. And remember the person you love is just as broken as you are when they fall short. No one is perfect – do not hold them to this standard. Find someone who is patient, forgiving, and apologetic. Someone who practices forgiveness freely and often. Love someone who is humble, kind, and empathetic. Not only with you, but with a beggar on the street, or a stranger in the supermarket. Common courtesy is important. Compassion is important. Kindness is important.
