Goingspirations

Is it just me or does anybody go through this? You sometimes have the most amazing inspiration for a piece of writing or canvas. Every word / colour comes gushing through and you know you have to put it down to paper / canvas - everything is crystal clear! And if you are lucky enough to afford the time and space to do it... then 'voila!' it ends up being one of the best work you ever produce. However if you can't, which happens more often than not, you can never get that moment back - that clarity fades away and that piece of inspiration seems nothing but a vaguely remembered dream. And even if you can remember the gist of it, what seemed once a brilliant thought now seems quite inane and trivial.

Sunday Afternoon Non-thoughts

So not me, so not like here… I sit in our bedroom reading Bob Dylan’s autobiography. The springtime sun streams through the window and warms my frozen achy bones. I hear the usual sounds of the tribe somewhere in the distance - two doors and a corridor away in the living room. Just feeling good to have this little stolen time of solitude. Trying hard to make the best of this moment for I know, I will have to become mummy again in just a few crawl-minutes. Until then I can grasp on to this little bit of me I haven’t lost…yet.
