but her HEARTwas in a constant state of suffering– turbulent riots under her skin accompanied by her startling realization that nothing was right. and, so, she escaped to her dreams. the most grotesque and fantastic conceits haunted her in her bed at night. a universe of ineffable gaudiness spun itself out in her soul while the clock ticked on and on and on. she never said a word, never uttered a phrase of pain nor weariness– and yet when the moon was high her cheeks always shimmered with star filled tears. each night she added to the pattern of her fancies until drowsiness closed down upon some vivd scene with an oblivious embrace. for a while these reveries prived an outlit for her imagination; they were a satisfactory hint of the unreality of reality, a promise that she could escape. that this wasn’t the end of ends. that she could tie herself to the stardust that bloomed in her lungs. she desired and hoped and finally she escaped on a FAIRY’S WING.
