“I’m fine.” Maybe a little ticked off, and maybe some of that is even directed at himself.. But no, he’s fine. He can handle his own crap anyway. He doesn’t need anyone’s sympathy, or pity, or help. Sure, it was lonely at the top.. But that didn’t matter.. He could make it there on his own.

This.. This was a minor setback. Embarrassing, shameful.. Frustrating. To have someone else laughing at his failure.. It was a blow to his pride. And it was a blow that was serving only to frustrate him more.

“Just.. Forget it.” He pushed past her now, his fists clenched, as he started to just simply walk away.

“What? No no no! I promise no more laughter!” She immediately dropped her smile and shuffled quickly to catch up, putting a hand on his shoulder. 

“I’m sorry, I really am..I guess i was just caught off guard, you don’t come to me for anything, but we’re friends-er..almost..and I want to help if you’d let me” She explained, looking up with concern in her eyes.

“Oh, yeah, keep laughing.” His fists were clenched, trembling with the urge to just hit her, and honestly, he was seconds away from doing just that. “Keep laughing, and see what that gets you!”

“I’m sorry- pft! Im sorry I’m good I promise!” She waved her hands as she stood up straight. A grin was still on her face as she wiped the tears pricking around the corners of her eyes from her hysteric laughter. 

“Ahah, Ah, I’m good. Are you alright?”

“What about all of this is funny?!"

“It’s just- I know its not funny I just-pfffttthahahahaha!!!” She couldn't finish her sentence before she was cracking up with laughter again. Her hands slapped her thighs as she was doubled over trying to get it together.

“I know you mean” She sighed, dropping down to sit beside the red head. 

“I’m not sure if anyones really sleeping...except maybe Mina. I almost envy her now” She laughed softly at her own remark, pushing her hair out of her face. It was a small attempt to try an ease the tension, even if it was a little. 

“At least this seems as any good place as any to sit..if you want me to hang around that is..cause i can go if you want to be alone.”

“But I do! And I’m sorry!” She responded with concern in her eyes. She would have put her hands on his shoulders if she wasn’t afraid he would blast her away at this very moment.

“Ah, I was in the common room with a few others, but it got a little rowdy, so I came up here for some fresh air..and to get away from the noise for a little bit” She admitted with a subtle laugh in her voice.
