Sharetivity is a concept which seeks to give people the possibility of shar their activities in the city. We want people to see the city in a different way and help each other in doing this. The city has many opportunities, that go unnoticed by many. This is a way of connecting the people in the city through the many opportunities they see in the city. Sharetivity will give different groups of people the possibility to share their view of the city, to highlight certain areas where they see possibilities for alternative activities, games or opportunities. Concept: Sharetivity is an app that will enable people to tag certain places, they find interesting, with pictures, text or video. These videos, pictures or text tags will give other people inspiration for activities to perform there. Users of Sharetivity can explore the city and through their smartphones see which proposals for experiences other people have. They can leave their own mark and experiences at a specific location for other people to benefit from. This will give the users a chance to break out of their regular habits and do new things they maybe never had done before. People with different backgrounds inspire each other in this way to learn and do new things, they never would have thought of themselves. The Sharetivity app shows the different activities on a map, so the users easily can get a view of the location and browse around. The app specialized filters so users can search for keywords which appeal to them or they can simply look at all the activities. By tapping on an activity marker, on the smartphone, the text, photo or video will appear. The different activities can be accessed anywhere through the smartphone although users will only be able to tag an experience if they enable gps and are on the specific location. Users will be able to use Sharetivity, tagging their own activities and experiencing others without having an account. However having an account will give more features. An account will give a personal map which illustrates where the user has participated in activities. Different colors will signify the level of participation at various areas of the map. Blue meaning low activity, yellow medium activity and red a high level of activity. This will visualize which part of the city the user is using and others that are undiscovered. Further thoughts: Through our concept people can enable each other to new experiences, possibilities and new views of the city. It can empower people to inspire each other with new experiences, which can break down their preconceived notions of a domain if they are willing to try. The people using Sharetivity can be anyone in the city. Be it school teacher, CEO, politician or teenager. As long as they have an experience to share. Through Sharetivity people can see new possibilities in comforting and known domains. It’s an augmentation of the public domain and its properties and uses.. Sharetivity can bring people together by giving the opportunity to learn what other people do in the city. How do they interpret the different aspects of the city. You learn about the different citizens in the city, through how they perceive the city. Thus bringing the inhabitants of the city closer together. The concept is built to enhance the city’s already existing possibilities in its architecture and structure, which are free. Aarhus, which holds Denmarks biggest number of students with a relatively low income, creates a big interest in free experiences. The concept also opens up for this kind of thinking. Inspiration: For Sharetivity we have different concepts which inspired us. Serendipitor is one such design. Serendipitor is a design about seeing the city in a new light. A new way of walking around and experiencing the city. Foursquare is another concept which inspired us. Mainly the way people are connected to specific parts of the city and are empowered in their interaction with it. We were also partly inspired by psychogeography and Guy Debord. The way of connecting the city through how people interact with it rather than how it is situated. Design Process: We started naming the different groups of people which we could empower, through our design, along with possible technologies and domains. After discussing ideas by combining different people groups we got slightly stuck and needed something to get us going again. We chose to use Method 635 as it enables many ideas to be generated with everyone adding something to each idea. Through Method 635 we found a number of great ideas. We then voted on all our ideas and came down to 2 concepts. After a few hours sleep we saw our final concept grow out of an idea of sharing stories with each other into sharing activities with each other. This is partly because activities can better enable people to help each other and therefore give a beneficial change to the city. After narrowing down our idea we started discussing specifications of our concept, built wireframes, recording our video and feeling more and more pressured. Response: We have talked to various of our peers at Aarhus University and pitched them our idea. The general thought was positive. They had some thoughts about our concept that we took to heart, which improved our design.
