My spooky (and autumnal/wintry) Johnlock fics
The Subtenant (12k, T): When you have ruled out the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Hence, there can be no doubt about it: 221B is haunted. Sherlock and John set out to investigate their new subtenant and find out more than they bargained for.
Danger Nights (23k, T): According to folklore, the nights between Christmas and Twelfth Night are the most dangerous of the year. During them, the Wild Hunt rides, and ghosts and demons come out to haunt unsuspecting and misbehaving folk. An investigation of a series of strange occurrences leads John and Sherlock to Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh Marches, to face ghosts weird and ancient as well as close and personal – and perhaps to start the new year on a more hopeful note than the previous one.
Over Earth and Under Earth (196k, M): Three months after finally acknowledging their mutual feelings, John and Sherlock are not much closer to sorting out their relationship, hindered by cases, work, family issues, everyday matters and by being themselves. Will a strange case out in the Suffolk countryside bring a solution or further complicate things? (Part of the Over/Under series)
Easy Scrambling (WIP, 11k, M): According to a popular online dictionary, “scrambling” is a walk up steep terrain involving the use of one’s hands, with many easy scrambles becoming serious climbs in bad weather. The definition of easy scrambling varies greatly from one hillwalking guide – and indeed one person – to the next. For some, it’s a simple hike up and down a fell, for others it’s serious climbing bad weather or no. Sherlock’s and John’s fledgling relationship can be described in similarly vague terms: what should be an easy and straightforward progression towards greater intimacy turns out to be fraught with more difficulties than either anticipated, struggling with past hurt both physical and mental, and the inability to fully open up to their partner. A case in the Lake District brings things to a head as old wounds reopen, and unresolved issues make the two men scramble not just to return from the fells, but also to preserve and deepen their bond. (Part of the Summer Boy series)
I’m also working on a short, self-indulgent fic set in the Lake District (but unrelated to my other stories) and titled Hot Water Bottle. I hope to finish it before October has passed.
Hot Water Bottle is finished by now. You can read it here:

Currently, I’m working on chapter 5 of Lost In A Good Book (a slightly spooky fic in its own right), and when that story is finished, I’ll continue with Easy Scrambling and begin writing Nightjet.
Amazing complete deck plans of Enterprise NX-01 in it’s original and NX-01.5 refit configurations.
Definitely worth the click.
12 years of "A STUDY IN PINK"
Queen Elizabeth II
There is a lot of toxic nasty stuff at the moment on social media, including tumblr, that makes me cringe. A great deal of that abuse is being posted by non-Brits. The majority of the British population supports the monarchy and has great respect for Queen Elizabeth II. It feels utterly inappropriate to be so beastly when a considerable number of people are in mourning for the loss of a person who meant a great deal to the country.
Mycroft is in mourning.
If you want to know why, read Ex Officio here.

“You’re here now.”
“Yeah, and this time, I’m – we’re – gonna stay. If you want us.”

On Tuesday, I hiked to Doverodde Købmandsgård which has been partly taken over by the SMK (Statens Museum for Kunst) with exhibitions in the old silo and some other buildings. From the top of the silo, one has a great view towards Morsø and the ferry across Neesund.
Lineart of the illustration for chapter 4 of my fic Lost In A Good Book. The chapter is about two thirds written. I hope to make some more progress on my long train journey back to Germany today.
Today I hiked from Ydby down to Helligsø Drag, then along the beach of Nissum Bredning for about 10 km, and then on to Hvidberg, from where I took the bus back to Ydby (total distance hiked was 20 km). Found some good flint fossils, mostly sea urchins and one that looks like an oyster.
After my somewhat adventurous train journey I finally arrived Ydby, Denmark yesterday and hiked down to the southernmost point of Thy with beautiful views of Skibsted Fjord.
