Bridges: Over Water But Under Rated
In the urban oasis that is New York City park land is plentiful when one may need to escape to more verdant surroundings. While I really appreciate the availability of these open spaces there is one thing that pisses me off about virtually all of them: dog restrictions.
When me and my dog are a walkin and spot a particularly lush patch of grass there is no stopping him from pulling me over so he can roll around in it like a giant, fat, baby. Then what happens? I get a summons. Not cool! NYC has dug its ticketing fangs into my bank account enough via parking tickets, I certainly do not need a summons because I don't know how to deny my Baily some green happiness.
This is why I like bridges. Sure, there is no grass but there is panoramic water and a delightful salty breeze. Also, there are no dog restrictions on any of them!!! My dog and I can walk or run some good uninterrupted miles with a lovely breeze and no signs that are against his very being.
