I trace my fingers along the porcelain bunnies, angels and fairies on my desk, my mind pouring over the state of things. Have you ever said a word over and over until it falls completely out of sense? The word somehow becomes no more than a sequence of sounds encased in an envelope of pearly teeth and pillowy lips. The word becomes foreign, disconnected, deconstructed.

Living becomes like this at times. Within the rhythmic patterns of floating through life, everything seems to dismantle after a time; like the plastic beads on my childhood necklaces, scattering across the cool marble floor. Rediscovering beads one by one between cracks and under bookshelves, I cradle the tiny jewels in my palm. No longer on a string, each bead becomes a single precious ornament. When everything falls apart, I sometimes feel five years old again, picking up each precious moment, cradling it between my palms.

how can people be so rude and don’t feel bad afterwards… When I don’t say thank you or don’t smile back I’ll think about it for 3 months straight and have flashbacks
