Stepping out of her cab Úrsula looked up at the brick warehouse in front of her. Hedon was an odd place for a famous photographer to have a studio in, but hey maybe the rent was killer. Taking off her sunglasses she looked around and had to admit this was one of the nicer parts of Hedon she'd ever been to. An unlikely place for the paparazzi to be she still had dressed for the cameras. One never knew when you were being stalked by the paparazzi because your bestie had started a rumor you were dating the Internet's Boyfriend of the Month.
Stepping into a dark and dingy entryway she looked around for any sign of a receptionist finding none. She'd been in shadier places in her life, but this was a famous high fashion photographer, she expected something nicer. Úrsula double checked her location was right before venturing in farther.
The elevator ride to the top was short and when the doors opened the tiny room was flooded with light. Sunlight streamed in through large windows bouncing off white walls. The room she walked out into took up the whole floor. A giant backdrop was set up against one wall with lights and cameras. On the other side of the room were racks of clothes and makeup.
Now where was the photographer? Surprisingly little pictures of him existed online. Looking around she noted the obvious hair and makeup team, the stylist standing by the clothes and a small team of people messing with the lights. One of them broke off and practically ran over to her.
"Miss Avecedo! Just on time, in fact I'd say you're a little early. Please let me introduce you to everyone."
Following the perky assistant over to the cameras she was shocked at how handsome the man that turned around was.
"This is the Trystan Pavlatos." She barely heard her introduce the other assistants as she stared at him. There was something there behind his polite smile that drew her in.
"A pleasure to meet you. I trust I'll be in good hands with you." Úrsula said holding out her hand.
Trystan had changed his shirt three times this morning. The colors just didn't look right. He needed to stand out without looking like he was trying. Not that he was, of course. Why would he? He had just been watching this woman's career like a little creep. The talent of her voice was impossible to ignore, and he'd be an idiot to let something that enticing slip away.
He needed her unassuming, so the usual magic to hide anything too "demony" and a deep grey shirt with his collar open. Not a lot needed to happen, lucky him. The studio was peaceful as he arrived, shifting mirrors and shuffling equipment around on his own before his little crew arrived. The light would be perfect when they were scheduled to start. Trystan had been using space in Hedon for decades now, he knew it better than anywhere else he had located. Maybe that was why he couldn't talk himself into leaving again.
He knew the elevator had arrived, that she had entered the studio, but didn't look. Chessy bopped her around with the energy of a creature half her age. When they came to him, he glanced over before turning directly to Ursula. She was cute, fresh, not to mention perfect. There was a beat of time before he shook her hand, a smooth smile moving across his features. He knew his hands were rough, this was on purpose. His grip was firm, confident, and lingered as his eyes dipped to the joining and back to her eyes.
"It's a pleasure," His words were loud enough for just her. "Miss Avecedo. Glad you could find us out here." He motioned to the building with his other hand. A finger traced a vein on her wrist before he let her go. "I'll have my way with you once you're ready." There was a hint of flirtation to his smile as he turned away from Ursula.
Laughing she took her hand back. "I was a little worried I had the wrong building until I came up." He was a little too friendly with that handshake.
"I'll go over to hair and makeup now. Don't want to keep them waiting." Walking away she thought back to what he'd said. Had that been a double entendre or was she imagining it? No, she was definitely imagining it. He was just flirty and probably gay at that. He was a fashion photographer, of course he was gay. He was too hot to be straight.
In the makeup chair she looked up in the mirror and their eyes connected for a brief moment. But she blinked and then they were gone, but she swore his eyes had been dark and predatory. That was strange. She must have been imagining it. God what was with her today?
The hair and makeup team worked quickly and before the hour was over she was already with the stylist and dressed in her first look of the shoot. A red mini Marc Jacobs which she was totally gonna have to go out and buy after the shoot. "I'm all yours." She said walking up to him.
