Honestly, I need everybody to fucking shut up about this ‘uwu we should rename him to (something that’s a tribute/reference to) Matt Mercer!!’. Like how do you miss the point of something this violently?? How are you this tone deaf???

You do not know who “““the safe ones”””” are, that’s the entire point. They thought naming the character after Jesse McCree was a fun nod to a great dude, they were violently wrong. You do not - cannot know - if the same will someday be true about whatever other person you think is so much better

This renaming is happening because this name is the actual literal name of a person who hurt the victims still working on this game. It is an absolute fucking disgrace that you cannot extend your sympathy to them - how the new name should reflect their, collaborate work rather than paying tribute to one dude who were not fucking victimized in this just because you like him. This categorically is not even remotely about Matt Mercer, stop prioritizing your favorite white man of the month over the (often black and brown) women who were hurt the worst by this god
