Introduction Howdy, the name's Oopsie! I'm a self taught artist from a low-income household who's been drawing pretty much my whole life, though I only started taking it seriously and really trying to improve when I was about eleven. I started off drawing dragons, wolves, Pokémon and other creatures, then I eventually learned to draw people too. I started playing Flight Rising in 2018, I love the community, the dragon designs, and writing lore and it's been one of my favorite pastimes for a long while. Being able to fund my projects and things in the real world through my art would be wonderful for me.

Wills & Wonts I WILL draw dragons (flight rising or otherwise), gijinkas, human(oid)s, anthros and furries. I will also do custom designs for these things. I can do banners, buttons, headers, dividers, pixel art, minimally animated gifs, simple drawings, scenes, and reference sheets. I'll also draw apparel and skins, and I'll design custom skins/accents. I WONT draw complicated robots, mechs, or armor simply because I'm not confident in my abilities in this area and I want to deliver quality artwork to my commissioners. If you're not sure a robotic design is too complicated, feel free to shoot me a PM.

FAQ

How long will my commission take? Commissions will be completed in the order I receive them, and they can take anywhere from one week to one month. If you haven't received a message letting you know I'm starting on your commission or an initial sketch and you're first in the queue, please reach out. If it's been a month since I confirmed I would be starting your commission, please reach out.

What payment method do you use? I use PayPal, and Ko-Fi works too.

Do I pay upfront or after the commission is completed? Half of the payment will be required upfront, and the rest when the artwork is finished. You can choose to pay in full upfront if you'd like.

Why do you take half before you start and the rest when you finish? This method protects both myself and my commissioner. If the commissioner does not respond after the commission is completed, I can assure that I have been somewhat compensated for my time. The commissioner can also be reassured that I will not get all of the payment until the work is completed.

How would you like to be credited? A link to this post or my blog.

I don't want you to post my commission anywhere. Is that okay? Yep, just let me know when you're telling me what you'd like. I'm also incredibly forgetful, so it's not a bad idea to remind me when I've finished.

How many commissions will you take at once? Four for now, but I may take more or less dependent on size and my stress level.

Your examples are shaded in different styles! How will you know what style I want? If a specific example piece catches your eye, let me know while you're ordering your commission and I'll shade in that specific style. I'll also probably ask when you add shading to your order.

What do you mean by 'outfit layers?' For references, I can design the body and clothes on different layers. This is customizable- the more clothing layers you have, the more customization options you'll have for that character's reference sheet. Commissions with many layers will also receive the .kra file, so they can hide and show layers as they see fit.

What's the difference between an Outfit & Clothing Layer? An outfit layer is multiple articles of clothing on a separate layer from the base, but the clothing pieces that it consists of can't be mixed and matched. Clothing layers are accessories or clothes all on their own layers, so you can mix and match those.

Terms of Service By commissioning me, you agree to the following:

Do not erase my signature or watermark, and do not claim my work as your own.

Do not trace my work.

Absolutely do NOT feed my work into ANY Generative AI program.

When using art or assets made by me in dragon bios or forum signatures, please credit me. You may also use the art as profile pictures off site, but credit is still requested.

I will not start a commission without at least half of the payment.

You will receive a watermarked version of the art until the final half of the transaction is complete. Once you've paid in full you will receive an unwatermarked image along with an imgur or filegarden link, including all versions of the artwork.

You will receive updates during the drawing process and most heavily during the sketching process. You may ask that I change, remove, or add things at any time to a reasonable degree.

Refunds must be requested before the final sketch is approved and the line art process begins. If you decide to terminate the commission after the lining process has begun you will not be refunded, but you will be given the finished sketch and whatever line art is present. If you paid upfront in full, you will receive a half refund.

The final piece will be posted on my Tumblr and this thread unless requested otherwise.

Banners, buttons, and dividers will be watermarked if I post them.

Commissioned buttons, banners, and dividers can only be used by the commissioner UNLESS they request to have the asset available for free use.

The commissioner may use the buttons, banners, and dividers wherever and however they'd like (ie. in dragon bios, forum sigs, tumblr posts, etc).

Tigerclaw time! Writing today's prompt, Tigerclaw/Shredder came back wrong based on S5E4 "End Times," has given me a new love and adoration for Tigerclaw. He may just be my favorite villain, like, ever? So today's oneshot snippet comes with a doodle page.

Tigerclaw & The Shredder

“Now that Kavaxes is my second in command, you will relinquish the Seal of the Ancients to him.” His voice is hoarse as always, but he speaks as though this is a punishment. “Right now.”

His chest clenches with the decision he must make– disobey his master, or do the stupidest thing he could think of.

“No.” The word burns like acid coming out of his throat. “It is too dangerous, Shredder. I will not allow it.” He tries to stay respectful but the inferno of emotions shows in his tone, harsh and stern.

“If you shall not obey me, then you shall be destroyed!”

Tiger Claw doesn’t even get the chance to be hurt by the betrayal before Rahzar, another reanimated corpse, tackles him to the ground. The Seal is knocked out of his metal paw as they roll dangerously close to the edge, but the mutant tiger kicks the zombie off of him and lunges towards the Seal–

But he is too late. It is crushed beneath the Shredder’s rotten foot and dread settles over him like a thick blanket. The destruction of this world weighs on his shoulders as Kavaxes speaks, having manipulated Tiger Claw with his grief over Saki’s death. 

Desperate, he looks back to the Shredder with one final plea. “Master Shredder, we must stop him!”

“Don’t you understand, Tiger Claw? You were right.” It’s the most genuine thing he’s said since his resurrection, and the first time he has heard Oroku Saki in months.

“Kavaxes is my master now.” He’s gone. Saki is really, truly gone, and Tiger Claw has brought upon the end of the world over a stupid crush like a cub.

Okay so I forgot to give u a snippet of yesterday's oneshot and the link before I went to bed last night. 'N' don't worry, I have a few pride themed ideas for a few oneshots I'm hoping to get down soon.

Head of the Hydra

Raphael Hamato & Oroku Karai/Hamato Miwa

“Huh– What the– What the shell?” Raphael immediately seems to panic, kicking out his legs and making the chains rattle.

“Knock it off, meathead!” She hisses at him, skin beginning to turn white and pale as panic sets in.

“Karai? What happened?”

“I don’t remember, and that’s not important right now! We have to figure out how to get out of here!”

Karai watches the battle below, thankful to see the turtles actually seem to be gaining some ground. Donatello and Michelangelo are teaming up against Bradford while Leo somehow manages to defend himself against Tigerclaw and Xever. Those two must be out of practice.

She loses her hope when Tigerclaw shouts, “Xever! Now!”

The fish doesn’t respond, simply leaps up onto the catwalk in one massive bound. Leo attempts to give chase, but Tigerclaw grabs him by the foot and slams him to the ground. Xever leaps onto the chain above them, causing them to swing over the mutagen.

“When I get my hands on you, you slimy son of a–” Raphael's threats are cut off by a click, quiet yet somehow deafening.

“No!” The turtles shout in unison as Karai and Raphael plummet into the tank of mutagen.

I've been wanting to write more, so I've decided that this pride month will also be turtle month for me! I'm going to try and write a one shot a day. Leonardo Hamato & Casey Jones

With a shake of his head Leo puts the helmet on and pulls the cage down in front of his face. He cannot believe he let Jones goad him into this stupid challenge, what was he thinking?

Well, he actually knows exactly what he was thinking.

“Jones, you don’t have a strategic bone in your body, and you’re questioning the plan?”

“Yeah, man, because the plan fucking sucks!” The hockey player had shouted last night before their mission. He was really just mad he wasn’t getting to join in the big battle with the mutant Foot minions, left outside the building on lookout duty with April. He should’ve been happy to spend some time alone with the object of his gross desires.

“Then why don’t you sit out here and try to think of something better! We don’t have time for this, guys, let's go.”

“Leo! You and me, the hockey rink, tomorrow night! Winner leads the team.”

“Fine!” The turtle shouted back at him as he and his brothers ran off to get into their positions. There was some bickering and banter about taking such a deal, but at the time the leader was so heated he really thought it’d be easy. Now he’s realizing how much of a Raphael moment that had been, and he’s probably about to pay for it.

MISOGYNY IN THE SHELL: Why TMNT 2012 Fans Owe April O’Neil A Massive Apology 🐢💥

Alright, family, grab your favorite slices of pizza and sit down because we need to talk about some real, unfiltered fandom auditory garbage. Specifically, we need to talk about how the TMNT 2012 fandom—and certain toxic commentary channels cough Generation Defenders cough—weaponize deep-seated misogyny against April O'Neil.It is time to dismantle this whole "April is the worst" narrative once and for all. Let's spill the tea. 🍵

1. The "Lead-On" Myth (The Math Is Not Mathing)

The biggest, loudest complaint from these channels is that April "played with Donnie and Casey’s feelings," led Donnie on, and "used his tech.

"Let’s unpack how deeply transactional and toxic that logic is. This argument assumes that if a male character does something nice for a female character, he is automatically owed romantic or sexual access to her. Receiving help or tech from a friend during a literal mutant apocalypse is not a contract for a relationship! April is a friend. Friendship is not a vending machine where you put in "nice guy tokens" and expect a girlfriend to pop out.

2. Donnie’s Entitlement vs. Casey’s Trophy Hunting

Let's look at how these boys actually act. Donnie treats April like a prize to be won. He frequently invades her personal space, brushes past her boundaries, and literal tracks her location without her consent. That isn't "sweet, starry-eyed devotion," it's alarming behavior!

Meanwhile, Casey treats her like a trophy to flirt with. Fandom culture completely romanticizes Donnie’s toxic entitlement and excuses Casey’s superficial behavior as "boys being boys." They treat April as an object of desire, rather than a human being with her own agency.

3. The Absolute Erasure of Female Trauma

April is a sixteen-year-old girl. Her father was mutated into a giant bat, her home was physically destroyed, her entire reality was upended, and she is fighting for survival. She explicitly states multiple times that she just "wants things to go back to normal" and that she needs friends, not suitors.

Yet, the fandom has a massive blind spot for her trauma. She is fighting for her sanity, but viewers reduce her entire existence down to: "But which teenage boy is she gonna kiss though?" The lack of empathy is staggering.

4. The Emotional Caretaker Trap

Why on earth is the burden placed on a traumatized teenage girl to gently manage the feelings of boys who cannot respect her platonic boundaries?

This frames young women as emotional caretakers for men. Society conditions us to believe a woman's primary job is to soothe male egos and let them down soft enough to keep them happy. If a boy cannot handle a platonic boundary, it is his responsibility to mature, not her responsibility to coddle him.

5. The "Mary Sue" Double Standard

Then come the attacks on her psychic abilities. Critics love to call it a cheap plot device that makes her an unearned, overpowered "Mary Sue."

Let's do some basic media literacy, shall we? April’s psychic powers are biologically tied to Kraang experimentation on her mother. It is deeply woven into the central sci-fi lore of the entire show, not some random shit thrown in last minute!

But let's look at the boys:

Four teenage turtles master elite ninjutsu in a sewer. (Fandom: Incredible! Masterpieces!)

Casey Jones fights mutant armies with a hockey stick and zero formal training. (Fandom: Iconic! Badass!)

April develops a unique, lore-accurate psychic power tied to alien DNA. (Fandom: Wow, unearned, what a Mary Sue.)

The double standard is shouting. Fandom accepts peak male physical feats instantly, but the second a female character holds real power, she is heavily scrutinized and labeled "unearned." They don't want an active hero; they want a helpless damsel in distress.

6. The Mae Whitman Cinematic Universe (April 🤝 Katara)

We have to connect 2012 April directly to Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Fun fact: they share the exact same voice actress, the brilliant Mae Whitman. And unfortunately, they share the exact same toxic fan backlash.

Why? Because patriarchal media consumer culture demands that female characters remain pleasant, supportive, submissive background cheerleaders for the male protagonists. The absolute moment they vocalize anger, set hard boundaries, or have a human breakdown, they are instantly demonized and vilified. Mae Whitman's voice has inadvertently become the soundtrack for female characters who hold up a mirror to the fandom’s internal biases.

7. The Hypocrisy: Karai vs. April

Oh, let's discuss this shit right here! Generation Defenders and the wider fandom adore the fuck out of Karai while crucifying April like she’s Satan’s daughter!

Why does Karai get a pass? Because Karai fits the hyper-sexualized, edgy, dangerous "femme fatale" archetype. She serves the patriarchal fantasy of the "cool, bad girl." Because she appeals to the male gaze and aesthetic preferences, fans excuse her active compliance with Shredder, her violent betrayals, and her actual, literal crimes!

Meanwhile, April represents a realistic, stressed, plain-clothed civilian girl dealing with intense mental health strain and PTSD. Because she isn't an idealized fantasy, the audience has zero empathy for her trauma. This completely proves that these fans value aesthetics over actual moral behavior.

Final Thoughts From the Shell 💥

Look, criticizing writing flaws is fine. Media critique is healthy. But using sexist rhetoric like "bitch" and completely erasing a character's structural trauma isn't a critique. It's a lazy, disrespectful, pathetic emotional temper tantrum from viewers who lack basic emotional intelligence.

Toxic commentary channels like Generation Defenders think they are just doing "fandom reviews," but they are inadvertently alienating young, queer, and female viewers (like myself!) by reinforcing rigid patriarchal standards. They push out the exact demographics who actually understand the emotional nuances of these characters, keeping media commentary stale, biased, and deeply patriarchal.

April O'Neil deserved a safe space, a therapist, and a real apology from this fandom. Period.

It bothers me so much when people say they hate April for her relationship with Donnie and Casey. I've actually come to really love their dynamic because it's very complex and deep. It's not black or white, and nobody is right or wrong, but people hate April so much more than Donnie or Casey.

Donnie should not track April's location, call her weird pet names, and bicker with Casey to try and earn her love over him. But he's 15, has been trapped in the sewers all those years, and doesn't know how to interact with people who aren't family let alone someone he's interested in romantically, and he grows! I mean he and Casey never stop bickering but he's less creepy and weird to April as time passes.

Casey shouldn't objectify April, touch her and flirt with her when she's uncomfortable, and the same point as with Donnie. I don't have an excuse for Casey other than yeah he's young but he wasn't sheltered the way Donnie was. He does definitely get better as well though.

April shouldn't have kissed D after he said he was moving on and flirting with both of them, but she's also 15 or 16! If we're going to let Casey get away with being gross because he's a teenager, then we can let April enjoy the attention she gets from the two of them. Plus, we've seen that touch is not April's romantic love language. Leo hugs and holds her, after the Speed Demon episode she leans on Raph's shoulder, etc etc.

Anyways their love triangle is toxic from all directions but as they grow up and mature their dynamic becomes less and less toxic. Don't hate April over the mutual toxicity. It's the most complex and interesting romance in the show among all of the shoehorned trash (sorry Ramona fans, 2012 did y'all dirty.)

Maybe I'm My Own Greatest Fear

He squeezes his eyes shut tighter with a grimace, then relaxes his face once more as he takes a deep breath in. It smells overwhelmingly of scented candles and incense, Master Splinter's way of keeping the sewer stink out of his space. Its strong scent isn't helping Raph focus any.

Once again, he takes a deep breath. He keeps his eyes shut even though he swears he can see the worm crawling under his lids. Raph begins to count, in for one, two, three. Out for one, two, three. It's still there, worse now. He can feel it crawling, he swears it, a stinging in his head like a razor, cutting through his brain matter.

“Fuck!” He growls as he opens his eyes. Regret sets in immediately and he covers his mouth, pressing his body against the trunk of the tree. He waits, listening for Splinter's door to open like a child who isn't allowed out of his room. It's not that Splinter will be angry with him– he'd probably be happy that Raphael was trying to meditate– but he doesn't want to talk about today, at least not yet.

The shoji slides open slowly, sensei’s pawsteps quiet and cautious. Raphael listens to his steps, pinpointing his location just by listening, and quietly rotates around the tree trunk to avoid his gaze.

His father stops for a moment and sighs. “Raphael.”

ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves

back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore

don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM

so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!

this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together

and then in the end you put it together like this!!

and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy
